I have a 3 year old daughter... I used her colorful tiny pony tail rubber bands around the link to the chassis where applicable

Try shock eye to shock eye. I use the plain black goodies hair tie from Walmart 250 for 1$ pretty sure it’s similar to what you are using. The pack I buy has 3 sizes
