Reviewing my Pentel BRUSH PEN haul

- I’m going to show you my new Pentel Brush Pen haul (including colours blue and orange) and challenge myself to use them all in this loose ink sketch. I’m really hoping the black pens don’t bleed too much as they are dye based! I’ll be using some water brush pens to add a grey wash as well as bleeding the colours.

I do think the two black pens are the same, it's just one is the standard black pen from the line of black-only pens, and one is from the "artist brush pen" line with the multiple colors. Also Pentel sells a pigment ink brush pen that is waterproof (the barrel is a sort of frosted grey color instead of solid black). That grey brush lol - I think I said last time I ended up emptying out at least half of the ink and adding water :p Even your learning projects are stunning, I hope you'll keep exploring these pens, it's such an inspiration!
thanks Sarah! will do👍🏼. yes with the pens I think the gold label through me off the black only pens haha. I’ve been using the grey to block in areas that are black but still see the line work so that might be a good way to use it but adding some water also sounds like a good idea!
@@SketchingScottie even watered down the grey ink can be layered to add depth once dry, I just did a portrait yesterday with that technique and it came out really well, you could try that. :)

Oh, I love that idea. I have a gray pentel brush pen and the gray is very dark. Might grab one of these to water it down.

I like the dry brush effect
The grey one is the best one! Blend as you go with a water brush and it won't be too dark.
