i won't lie i did not know Sophie, but seems real down to earth, one thing she talked of was her parents playing the Buena Vista Social Club album all the time,i feel thats the way it was for most young people before social media music, you liked a record bought it and played it always until one day you got a new record that you then played to death ,but you formed such a bond with music that way and you almost never came to hate the music, you turned the record over LOL-anyway cool girl, nice picks,Chet baker one i had just bought,so yeah i agree with what she said, that era of chet is perfect.Cheers and good luck today, tomorrow and always,👍🌻🇺🇦🇺🇸☘✝
Buena Vista Social Club es una leyenda. I'm happy you like it not just because of its music but for your family music taste. Now I'm interested in your music, I'm pretty sure you wont let me down .Salutti
Totally agree about Feist. I saw her play solo (ie. no band) as part of a big charity show with a chatty, bored audience. She played Undiscovered First and, at the very end -- normally a crescendo -- she whispered the lyrics and played the guitar so you could just barely hear. You could hear a pin drop-- she had the audience's rapt attention.
It's very gratifying to see that the new generation of musicians have very eclectic inspirations and that they don't necessarily sound like their projects. This expands creativity and makes them artistically much more interesting. Great taste in music she has, by the way.
I just looked them up, I like their music but it's actually house music! lol completely different from the selections here... this is an awesome selection, but I'm dissapointed yet somehow not surprised that she didn't choose any electronic or house records here... from what I've heard, their music sounds like house music that is completely devoid of proper house influences.
It is unfortunate that she is misinformed about the origin of Manu Chao. His parents were Spanish and the language spoken at home was Spanish. Although he was born in France, he has dual Spanish and French nationality.
Really enjoyed that, very culturally rich. Funny she talked about BVSC because I pulled it out and spun that album yesterday and my kids were asking what it was.
Didn't see it until I saw your comment but I totally do now, especially her eyes 😊. Also I'm in my 40's so I totally remember Elizabeth McGovern from a lot of 80's/early 90's movies 😋.
Is that music (?) playing at the beginning done by this lady? It sounds like somebody recorded audio of some Tibetan festival on their 2006 flip phone and then paid someone money to turn the treble up to +10. Where are you people finding these posers?
Was gently perving over this delightfully slinky young woman, but then a casual googling revealed she operates in the genre of house music. I spent the 90s trying in vain to escape that shite. So it's a big neon nope from me.
The best kind of episodes. She had very descriptive stories with her picks
As a Brazilian I love when Sofi sings in Portuguese, she is so beautiful and sweet. I love her smile and those blue eyes 🥰
This was educational. So many cool tunes to check out! Thanks
This was a great episode!
She has great taste
This is flattering to watch as a brazilian i kinda like everything she mentioned on this and her opinions are so meaningful
incredible. I don't know the artist's work but the way she talks about each choice captivated me. I will listen to her music. killer picks, girl.
This is a cool and unique What's in my Bag. Definitely nice to have a change of pace from the same old same old "classics".
I can’t even describe how perfect the manu chao album is from start to finish, I highly recommend🔥
I adore chet baker sings for very similar reasons. Easy to sing, very laid back. Great episode.
This is probably the most related I’ve felt to one of these. Manu Chao was huge for me and my brothers in high school
That Feist album is sooooo good. The crescendo at the end of "Graveyard" gives me goosebumps every time. Solid picks, Sofi!
This was awesome, she knows her vibe, I love that.

I have no idea what her music sounds like but i like her so i hope it works out for us🤞
Plus I think pretty much everyone's parents had Buena Vista Social Club. It's nostalgic childhood music for Millennials and Gen Z.
@@phillybms thanks for sharing and best to both you and your son,and yes she seems down to earth- cheers✌🇺🇸🇺🇦
Excellent choices young lady👍

I can’t stop watching what’s in my bag 😊
I love Chet Bakers music. His wonderful trumpet playing, and his vocals.
Bueno vista, Chet baker sings, manu chao, feist… man good stuff. Amazing…

As a kid with an international upbringing too, I totally understand where she comes from. Lobe sofi's taste in music!
The good artist of today have influence of the good artist of the yesterday, Love that
Her eyes...WOW!
I've never seen someone with this tint of blue tbh
Fake contact lenses.😐
I just watch this whoever it is, so I don't know who this is, but her selections are freakin brilliant!.
She looks nothing like Sophie Tucker. 😍😍😍 I approve.
I am now a fan.
I really really like how you go back to 2nd year college !!! 💋❤ Those are some of the best people ......
amoeba love.... & that album had it right.... oppression ... for me it was War & Natural Mystic ...
My first time hearing Chet Baker sing, won't be my last. Lovely choices.
I would rush out and pay to hear Sophie sing Chet Baker songs, album, stream, and concert. Who's with me
Her EYES 😍😍😍
Amazing she likes manu chao
Every time someone mentions Chet Baker on this show, an angel gets its wing
Uma das pessoas mais fofas do mundo! =)
I like her
So interesting thankyou

You can hear the Brazilian/Latin influence in a lot of their songs! Check out "Brazilian Soul," "Mon Cheri," and "Matadora."
It’s definitely a mix of genres, but it’s mostly house/dance music with Brazilian and Latin influences
her eyes :---)
Never heard of her but she's beautiful.
"SOFI TUKKER's sophomore album Wet Tennis is available now." This is their 3rd studio album.
I'm surprised she didn't mention arthur verocai , a standout album, and musician.
Greetings from Brazil....
She knows more about the true brazilian music than most brazilians do.
@@Qliphirot I agree...
@@Qliphirot 🤔
Where Welcome to Hell by Venom?
I have no idea why I sat through this garbage episode , although i dig bueno vista socail club.😐
Yay I love Sofi
Would love to see her play with Chicano Batman
The blue of her eyes just pop out.
Panis et circenses POG
To be honest, I had never heard her name before. However, anyone who likes Gal Costa and grew up moving around a lot gets my vote.
she was right by a Fall album in the beginning. sophie it's right in front of your nose. but can you get prettier eyes on a person!
Killer picks! And yea that manu chao record is awesome. All his stuff is actually. 👍
I thought amoeba closed down
Cutest lisp of all time.
Hey guys, can you bring frank mullen (ex-suffocation) for a whats in my bag?
It is unfortunate that she is misinformed about the origin of Manu Chao. His parents were Spanish and the language spoken at home was Spanish. Although he was born in France, he has dual Spanish and French nationality.
Chica, tenemos elecciones muy similares (??!!!!!)
❤️
Really enjoyed that, very culturally rich.
Funny she talked about BVSC because I pulled it out and spun that album yesterday and my kids were asking what it was.
Third culture kid power
very hot and very talented, nice selection too
Cool babe.
Cool selection, but that pressing of Chet. 🤔Blue Note should start repressing the wonderful Tone Poet version quick, to avoid that crap spreading.
She looks like a younger version of Elizabeth McGovern
Didn't see it until I saw your comment but I totally do now, especially her eyes 😊. Also I'm in my 40's so I totally remember Elizabeth McGovern from a lot of 80's/early 90's movies 😋.
Amoeba. Where hipsters go to buy vinyl they never play.
I was a science major .....
So that's who Lenny Bruce was talking about.
Tell me you come from rich parents without telling me you come from rich parents
Good for her
Jodi..that level of commenting is just SPAMMING… stop it!!

Educate yourself.
I ❤️❤️❤️ ☸️
Never heard of her .. never will .. next “
Hmm except for Brazilian artists, it’s really boring.

You either get it or you don’t, bruh. House music is amazing when your ears are tuned correctly
You’re so pretty light 💡 forgive me deja vu us. King 👑 Solomon’s Porch Biggest Love ❤️
She's a terrible artist but i admit that she listens to beautiful music
OMG this episode sucked. yawwwn. pretentious. Manu Chao rules though
Who?
