    I'm currently on my 8th Doberman Pinscher since 1978...... Best breed ever & smartest breed I've ever trained..... I've owned 8 Dobies, 3 GSD's, 3 Labs, & several mutts & by far Dobies are hands down best breed to me...... Love❤️them!

    I was lucky enough to own & be owned by a Dobie, and she was the greatest. I'm to old to properly exercise one now, but I still melt everytime I see one. They are so sweet, smart & loyal.

    Dobermans are quite easy to train but it takes work & be the boss! Cinnamon was a red Doberman at 120 pounds. The only thing that made her truly mad were cats & intruders .

    I have a doberman and she's the sweetest thing ever, and to everyone. You just have to make sure that you socialize them young and treat them right is all. It always upsets me when people say oh dobermans are aggressive and terrible dogs because they aren't. It's just like pit bulls its not the dogs fault it's the owners.

    I agree, I personally think they're adorable naturally! The only thing is, a lot of breeders or people selling dobermans dock their tails and crop their ears before you even adopt them.

  • @TheHappyNapkin
    @TheHappyNapkin 11 лет назад

    Also when people think cropped ears and tail they think doberman, the natural dobe look looks more like a hound. But it's to each their own. I got mine done and now she loves her ears being played with haha

  • @regokoko7932
    @regokoko7932 11 лет назад

    no they are not dobermans are protective and loyal and totaly friendly it only debends on how the owner trains then ,if a doberman is agressive it is the owner's fault because he didn't train it to socialize from a younger age

    A few errors. They displayed a Great Dane Silhouette instead of a Dobe, spelled Dobermann incorrectly, described the breed as "fairly healthy", and didnt emphasize the breeds high energy quite enough. Other than that, the rest seemed pretty accurate.

    • @JustinAEgan
      @JustinAEgan 8 лет назад

      + aelegent..... The dog, the breed - is named after the man - his name is spelt with two "N", how much room for compromise does that leave?
      There are at least 4 ways to spell 'George', if my name were Jorge - I'm not going to be real happy if you spelled it any way other than the way I did. You can't go around changing a persons name because you are too lazy to add the second 'N'.

    Well I disagree that a dogs personality isnt going to change. Who knows what kind of trauma is inflicted upon their developing minds when their ears and tail are cut. I would also like to mention that some people (improperly) try to do this on their own and the results can be terrible. But I do agree that a dog should be loved no matter what they look like. I just want to increase the awareness of this horrible practice and hopefully bring it to an end one day.

    Um... last time I checked a 70-90lb dog is DEFINITELY a large breed?

    • @JustinAEgan
      @JustinAEgan 8 лет назад +1

      +Sondra Dankert ... maybe by the standards of today, but then, the average person today doesn't know much of anything about dogs. Until a dog gets over 100 - 120 lbs, I think of it as medium.
      Just because Dobermanns can be 27 1/2 inches at the shoulder doesn't mean they all are that tall. Since the Dobermann is lean, muscular and tall - doesn't make them any larger than a Retriever, Shepard or other common house dog.
      That's the best thing about Dobermanns... they are one of the few working breeds who can be trusted, can adapt to living inside, near their people, without having to vacuum the house twice a day.

      The original look of the Dobermann was cropped and docked. Breeders that still crop and dock are just keeping the creator of the breed's dream alive, rather rude not to in my eyes. He created the breed to have the signature look and spent a large portion of his life achieving that, his dreams and goals shouldn't be thrown away just because a couple people don't agree with it.

    • @Weirdanimalboy
      @Weirdanimalboy 8 лет назад +2

      +Nea Nea That's not very true. They claim to keep the creator's dream alive, but then why are the dogs different from what they looked like when they were created? Why is the American standard different from the German standard, even though the dog originated in Germany? Because they wanted what they thought the dog should look like, not what the creator wanted.

    • @gunsight4162
      @gunsight4162 9 лет назад +7

      It doesn't hurt the dog or affect them in a negative way. Tail docking can keep the tail from being injured in work

    • @ronan7036
      @ronan7036 8 лет назад +1

      Not only does it have no negative affects (the entire process is neutral, no proven pros or cons to cropping/docking OR leaving natural) it also keeps Mr. Dobermann dream and entire life goal alive. His purpose in life shouldn't be thrown away because a couple people dont agree.

    • @Booksandlemonade
      @Booksandlemonade 8 лет назад +1

      Times change and dobermans are not used like before. Ear and tail docking is abuse and has always been. A dog use tail and ears to communicate with other dogs, it´s humans who have the need to make dream design dogs or crop tails and ears. It doesn´t hurt the dog? It does, amputating bodyparts hurts.

    • @ronan7036
      @ronan7036 8 лет назад

      ***** Spaying/neutering causes the dog more pain and multiple studies conducted by veterinarians have shown it has negative affects on the dog's health(I can link you one if you'd like), nobody complains about it. With cropping dogs are up and running and playing right after they get home, have no negative affects to their health, and there is 0 proof that it affects their ability to communicate. I know 50 or so dogs that are cropped and/or docked (I own a docked dog myself) and out of all that I know none have issues communicating with other animals. All are well rounded, loved, and well cared for members of the family.

    • @Booksandlemonade
      @Booksandlemonade 8 лет назад

      I guess we will never agree, but I do appreciate your comment being nice and not nasty. :) My dog was hyper sexual with no sleep or eating when the females where in heat. He is more calm now and can live life like any other dog, without the urge to hump everything in his way. We waited a long time before doing this. Operations are never fun and I think that it´s a thing you do only if you are forced to.
