This mold has a special place for me... Sunstreaker was my first Transformer as a kid, apparently the mold was the first diaclone and after so many years it's clear it has a very distinct aesthetic set apart from the entire rest of the G1 line. Such a beautiful toy, G1 and masterpiece both. Thanks for the awesome vid!

Not the first Diaclone, but the (said by Hasbro) original vehicle transforming robot.
Spinout is CR-01, car robot no1. Cordon is CR-03.
If they would just release Masterpiece Ironhide in black they could get the trinity as black Ironhide is CR-02.

I wanted to say thank you for making this video all those years ago. MP Sunstreaker is my favourite MP I've ever had, and I'm not a colour variant collector, so seeing photos of Cordon I thought 'No....I'm fine..'. I do love the emergency vehicle colour schemes so much though! Then I saw your video and hearing how great it was from your perspective, I felt like it was future me speaking to myself, telling me how much I'd love it haha, I ordered one straight away. I've had Cordon on display for a few years now (I only have one or two MP's on display at once) and last night I transformed it back into car mode and all of the black and white, and chrome, flipping and compacting into the Lambo was such a joy. I put it into it's original boxed to be put away until I bring it back out in year's to come to enjoy it again. The toy brings me so much joy and I never would have got it if you hadn't made your video. So thank you!
He is a really beautifull Masterpiece toy. I love the retooled head. He has such a cool kind of ghostly look.

This mold was the last really good release for Takara. It is the last one I have bought which has excellent plastic, great hardware, beautiful plastic, and amazing engineering. Love the look of this release in particular. The white and black looks so sharp.
ive got mp cordon, and its by FAR my favorite piece in my collection. absolutely perfect imo

I picked this figure up some few months ago, it’s amazing! I swear it’s more articulated than a regular action figure

And here we are, some five years after the release of Sunstreaker, and four after Cordon & Spinout...and yet Takara STILL ain't announce a G1 toy styled Sunstreaker!? They have the head sculpt (Spinout's version), they could do tampographs of the toy's sticker details, why in the world haven't they made this a thing by now??
I originally picked Cordon up for the Earth Defense Command Autotrooper. But now I'm unsure if I should use the Cordon persona. Because you know the police Cordon off the area and the whole dish of Cordon Bleu.
I didn't know the Sideswipe Sunstreaker mixup. But it's a Hasbro tradition of switching the names and functions.
First season: Military Prowl & Detective Hound.
2nd season: Grapple (what a tow truck does onto the bumper) and Hoist (a crane hoists a load).
3rd season Scourge and Cyclonus (I always felt like the hovercraft would have the name Cyclonus because of the big fans that power the hovercraft).
Japan Takara targetmaster exclusives: Artfire (a car with fire art) and Stepper (a step ladder).
And Bluestreak (the person who named the character was looking at the Diaclone version, while the toy is another paint deco and the animation is another paint deco).
No matter how many times I hear it slag as a name will always be funny to me.

A bit out of my price range. Only the first Bumblebee is really in my range for a Masterpiece. Thoughts on him?

FWIW I ordered MP-21 from TFSource (among many other things) and it was cracked out of the box...I sent them a photo and they replaced it immediately at no charge (including shipping).
