I remember what I did with this set as a kid because I barely knew what the show was... I basically played with it and gave it like different stages of evolution based on the metroids from Metroid 2. Like starting from a dinky minimal part hatchling form to omega form that uses as many of the parts as possible.
@Ben Cossy the moc of Brick Bricklson Is from the book "After man" by Dougal Dixon. Is ment to rappresent the night stalker, a ground Bat from the future
Mate, amazing review. I might consider getting this set somehow. This would be great to put in a lego space base. Also hell spawn incarnate, amazing work by Mitch 😤👌
Finally I can be an info-brigade! So, that MOC of Brick Brickolson is actually a Night Stalker, a creature from "After Man" called "Night Stalker". These animals evolved from bats and became land-dwelling predators that use their some-time-before-wings as legs and legs as arms! These red things are highly developed ears that can hear the prey from a long distance even at night!
I spoke to the guy who worked on galidor and he told me that it was supposed to be a action figure line for the younger market due to rhe success of bionicle, but they realized that what made bionicle so good was the story.
Ooni is the set/character I remember the most from Galidor. It was such a cool design that was abandoned like the show it came from which was such a waste. Definitely gonna be using those heads!
I love your cursed galador brachiosaurus that you showed in the background one time. Also ooni’s unique head piece looks like a squid’s mandibles on like a doom demon face
I suspect half the hatred was the bad tie-in TV show. The other half likely being just how much of a departure the pieces are from both System and Technic pieces.
Reminds me of the Masters of the Universe Modulok figure/set. It was a set of parts that could be used to make a number of different insectoid creations.
this is my favorite (and only) galidor set i own!(altough i also really like the EGG but i dont own it.) the thing that made me buy this set was the uniqe head piece and the recolored gorm head, i really like the bug, bird like head piece wich was used on the boges from the show(they were also going to be sets but the line got cancelled). for me, the first model is my favorite, in my headcannon the ooni is a biomechanical amalgamation of mechenical limbs and a body, organic feet and a head of a boge. and yes as a person that build all the 3 models i also noticed the..... very unfortunate placment of the ratchet joint.
As a kid I loved the series and liked the concept of being able to build and interchange your action figures with the good quality joints. I feel like the line would have done better if they had stuck with the smaller lower cost sets instead of flooding it with variants of 2 characters and then trying to push out a bunch of very expensive, low compatibility, electronic sets.
This is the most Bionicle-like Galidor set. Literally, this reminded me of this ultra rare 15 in 1 set: ruclips.net/video/oWRxpZ90lGM/видео.html . They aren`t even close in terms of quality, but i can`t help but notice the similarities.
Hi i hope u see this. I ve been watching ur channel since years now. I wonder if i could please dm to share with you a moc of mine. Have had it for years also, and could be worth looking at, i think 😂
Galidor could have been a hit if it just stuck to weird monsters like this
6:34 You could angle it backwards and call it a vestigial tail.

The head actually kinda looks like the Fusion Omega Metroid Sprite head
@eightcoins4401 Yep!

The Galidor Pieces are ridicolously stable. Pretty cheap used due to that.

Great video ,Mr. Ben .Now my OONI looks right . Thanks.

6:24 Dang, we finally broke Ben Cossy.
10:07 it’s the nightstalker!
I have genuinely never heard of this set before and it's actually one of the coolest things I've seen out of Lego
I feel like Galidor would have been more sucessful if it had no Lego Branding. Slugger got some good videos about its strengths
A banger ow skin concept in a Lego moc of all places is not something I expected
An interesting place to put a turret on
I suspect half the hatred was the bad tie-in TV show. The other half likely being just how much of a departure the pieces are from both System and Technic pieces.
10:05 THATS FROM AFTER MAN!
It’s supposed to be a relative of the modern day bat! Those things are ears!
It’s called a Night Stalker
That brick-brickleson MOC is doing spec evolution, it's a future bat, and those are ears.

Yep, that one model definitely has the crotch missile from Batman in the Harley Quinn series that came out nearly 20 years after the fact. Yep.
I thought it was based on the Punisher gun transformer
It might be based on the infamous Punisher transformation toy midtransform.
The final form isnt better either since the barrel ends in his butt.
4:44 CRAZY FROG SPOILER ALERT

Ooni was my *_only_* Galidor set. I liked it, but I don't like how it's pretty much incompatible with anything that doesn't use the ratchet joints.
I love galidor.
That first one has the same body shape as the Rock Raptor combo model from Bionicle, and that is not a compliment. ☺️
Disnt expect an after man moc but here we are
I think maybe the „appendage“ is meant to be an insect ? Just placed unfortunately due to lack of epidermis.
8:55 that looks like the Pretender Bludgeon
I do believe the... Unfortunately placed part, may be a way to connect to humanoid to the beast like a mount
@12:00 SPLIT-LIP
HAAAAAA WORC WORC WORC!!!!
I honestly like the first design, it reminds me of the acklay from star wars
Incredible how i deleted this from my memory. Well thanks! >:(
the first one reminds me of the aliens from animorphs forgot their name
6:30 going commando.

I love the designs but I'm just am not comfortable with how hard it could be to make it work with Lego pieces
6:20 it’s not small it’s average
If i get this, im increasing the turret size.
I didn't even know this stuff existed until now! 🤣
I also never particularly cared for Bionicle, for that matter.
oh boy, that is very a unfortunate placement.

Nah its vidiyo
That’s Lego? What?
Only good galidor set imo, rest I don't even consider Lego.
