Just watched the movie, The Servant. All I enjoyed was the song that played at times during the movie. I searched for it and found this treasure. Thank you.
I remember visiting The Stables at Wavendon for a weekend concert. I'm 66 yeo now but I remember it like it was yesterday as do my poor feet!..I hitchiked from Bury St. Edmunds as I was too young to have a drivers licence...Now here I am in Perth, Western Australia, 49 years later. 😊
Beautiful. Lady, vocalist and essence ..you are! Wonderful to see you living and singing joy. Both your mother and father have shared such blessings in song, and music with the world; for which we are grateful. You are another gift to them and us.
I am thrilled this clip found me. I attended every Sydney appearance of Cleo Laine in the 1970's. Extraordinary voice and stage presence. Brilliant backing from her husband.
I had the pleasure of doing a one-off radio show with you, back knows who knows when, but your wonderful Ma & Pa were a part of my growing up. I cherish the 4 CD Salvo set I have on the book case, and I'll be sure to get a new CD player to play it again soon. Especially, though, I remember them supporting Francis Albert on his last ever London show, the very last night; but even more especially, that sweltering hot summer night, melting in my sarf east London flat and hanging on every note of their Proms concert. xx
Cleo Laine is a true legend and it is our honour to have had the sheer pleasure of her wonderful voice, personality and her charm. Love this lady, she is totally and utterly the best!
The first time saw Cleo was at the town hall Neath South Wales. I was 14 years old. am now 74 years old. I never missed her live concerts in London ( also saw Jacqui a good few times ) not many days go by that I don't play her recordings. Wonderful artist. What an unbelievably tallented family
I saw Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth perform in Bermuda when I was 13/14yrs old. Many years later I bought Into the Woods OLC Recording. I thought the Cinderella had the voice of an Angel- it was Jacqui Dankworth. An immensely gifted family.
As a former Radio Presenter from Newport Pagnell many Presenters spoke highly of Cleo and her Music often got played on the Station. My Dad remembers Cleo singing as a Child on the Street where they lived in Southall back in the late forties, I have a vague memory of Cleo amd John turning on the Newport Pagnell Christmas Lights in the Eighties
How exciting to have it narrated by Dame Cleo herself, and Jacqui! Younger than ever, Dame Cleo! Such a different hairstyle and tailored outfit is quite attractive. Such a nice blend of tunes from the two of you.
This is a beautiful tune lovingly rendered by a nouveau jazz wonder, Jacqui Dankworth. Her mother clearly didn't cast a shadow, but sunshine! How I hope Jacqui can be as lushly rewarded as her parents. This is enthusiastic! Sending love.
She's phenomenal, brilliant and at the same time awesome! I love her voice. When I first heard her, she blew me away. I went on a mission to collect her music. Love 💖 you Dame Cleo!
I came late to the party. When I watched your mom in 'Last of the Blonde Bombshells' I thought, is this lady really singing? If she is, she has a new fan. So I looked her up online. Yes, indeed this is Dame Cleo Laine. Then, I wandered around RUclips finding more performances of Dame Cleo. Thank you for the music, Dame Cleo! Thank you, Sir John! And thank you, Jacqui!
This is a Singer ! And how one sings ! Unlike all the screamers today ! And hearing her daughter , rare ! They sound alike so so much . Slight different intonations . But oh my …….
Unique singer. Love how her personality always shines through in her performances. And who is the great young guitar soloist during Jacqui's performance?
What a lovely vid Jacqui! A real surprise to see your mum with straight hair! I agree with you - curly is far more a ‘Cleo Cut’. It happens quietly’ - difficult song! Good job on it though …. 💐♥️
A beautiful song written by John Dankworth, totally f*cked up by the tenor player and the guitarist. Why do musicians like these two have to breath halitosis into such a serene and poignant love song? Answer: They have no humility, and that is unforgivable.
just learned about Cleo ...her voice was amazing 😍...and passed it to her daughter 🤩

beautiful vocal, and the accompaniment is perfect for this song. there's a lot of talent up there
Beautiful tune. I hear shades and colors of Cleo.

Oh wow. Lovely to see your mum, Jacqui. I hope she realises how loved she is after all these years. And your performance was wonderful!

Your Dad was right. I loved this. It has given me shivers.

Love your voice Jackqui.
Bravo Jacqui! 👏🏼
Jacqui Dankworth is the most seriously overlooked musical talent in this country.
Wow such a similar voice as her mother who's still around at 96 btw
This is a Singer ! And how one sings ! Unlike all the screamers today ! And hearing her daughter , rare ! They sound alike so so much . Slight different intonations . But oh my …….
Jacqui sounds like her mom. Just hoping she has as long as a singing career as her mom. Hello, Jacqui!
From mother to daughter! Lovely voice!❤️
Of course, you shine just as bright with "It Happens Quietly"
Thank you. I had no idea.
Unique singer. Love how her personality always shines through in her performances. And who is the great young guitar soloist during Jacqui's performance?
Lovely ones
I saw Cleo in her early days in Smethwick , Birmingham.
Oh, how I love your mom's voice.
You are amazing! Do you tour? Buffalo, NY? Please!
FUNNY, THE FIRST TIME I SAW MYSELF PERFORM I WAS FASCINATED...
...AND THEN QUICKLY BECAME CRITICAL.
Gorgeous Jacqui Xxxxxx
Jacqui is 57, and looks a lot younger..
Of course Cleo Laine is legendary, but let's live in the 'today'. Jacqui is just absolutely sublime here!
Gosh, she actually sounds a lot of like Cleo!!
Wow what a Singer
If THEY Were Americans, they'd be Living legends.
💕💕💕
Sloppy ending 🤣🤣❤
I was thinking the same - I can’t imagine her ever doing a “sloppy ending!” 🤩🤓🤣😂
I love how you can be THAT amazing and still self critical. Typical musician 💕
What a lovely vid Jacqui! A real surprise to see your mum with straight hair! I agree with you - curly is far more a ‘Cleo Cut’. It happens quietly’ - difficult song! Good job on it though …. 💐♥️
I've never seen Cleo Lane with straight hair. Is this Cleo or is it her daughter Jacqui?
Who is on guitar ?
Sounds good to me..
🙏 🌹
Effortless , mistress of jazz .....Cleo and Johnny were the password to coo! Back in the day.
