Without question, Merle was the GREATEST all-around country music artist/talent to ever walk the face of the Earth. Period. Singer, songwriter, musician, band leader, impressionist. It's a race for SECOND place. Because there's Merle.....and then there's EVERYBODY else.

To some degree I see that. Some of his facial expressions. It a shame we couldn’t see Buddy Holy mature, and make more music. He was a genius. We owe a lot to him! I don’t know if you like The Flying Burrito Brothers.? They loved Merle Haggard! Gram Parsons was also one of those genius’s that left us too early. Their version of Sing Me Back Home, and The Bottle Let Me Down , were a great homage to Merle, and Country music.✌️

@@KyleStansfeld-zi6gc Yeah, I've got a couple "Flying Burrito Brothers" live performances saved. Talented group. I'm trying to get somebody to react to Emmylou Harris "Beneath Still Waters". Can't believe that no one has reacted to that yet. Love, Emmylou, but to be honest I saw Lisa Stewert perform this song when she was a regular on Music City Tonight, Her live version from back around 1994 was just incredible, every bit as good as Emmylou's recorded version. I wish that I could find it on RUclips. Lisa was an awesome singer in her own right. Have no idea why she never made it big. Incredible polished Stage Presence and Drop-Dead Gorgeous lady. Never learned what became of her second album that she had half completed and sang a couple of songs from when she came back on the show. To my knowledge, it was never released. Even if the record label folded, which is probably the case, you would have thought she would have been snatched up by someone else pretty quickly.

I was driving down a backroad in Montana when the man on the radio said he died. I drove a little farther and thought about it. Then it kinda hit me what a HUGE impact Merle Haggard had had on my life. The songs, the bars and honky tonks, the dancin' and drinkin', and the ladies. The good times and the bad. There isn't one Merle song that doesn't bring on a flood of memories and feelings. Then I realized I couldn't see the road anymore, and I had to pull over. And there I sat, listening to the tribute songs that DJ was playing for Merle, and me.

Mighty Merle rockin’ the stadium with Bonnie Campbell and Ronnie Reno singing the sound behind the Haggard Sound. Little Shannon Marie Burns you see pictured here, was called home to rest eternally with God in his cradeling arms. Singing with Bonnie and Merle as she loved them. And Roy on that lead.
