I’m glad you posted this video, I took possession of my 24 lonestar cab around Christmas and was very disappointed with the audio. One other thing I did see, is a JL 500x4 amp will fit very nicely behind the rear seats, you can use that to hook up to your rear speakers and a mild sub under the seat.
I will have to make a video once I install my setup. I purchased 2 rockford 12'' subs for under the rear seat. I'm dding two more 7.7's in roof and then powering them with two JL 600W/3 amps. I'm running 1 sub, 1 new 7.7, and the other 7.7 thats power by the headunit only on each amp. I.m hoping to have it all installed by end of month, just starting to sound deadening this week. Thanks for watching, please subscribe if you get a chance!
It’s from Wetbox. Chris Finch is the guys name if you look him up on Facebook. Great quality and finish box! I’m about to post another video with updated full system installed
@bjmmotorco mine was the last 24 ordered from my oklahoma dealer, the plate is there, but unmarked...then once removed there is a rubber water seal, and behind that is where the controls have been removed...the holes are stamped out but the typical gain, hz, lpf, hpf etc has been removed...I was super pissed off lol...all that time trying not to lose the damn screws, nuts and tiny bolts
@@bjmmotorco I just got a 24 Lonestar today and I turned it up a little bit in the showroom but once I got it home, I really wasn’t impressed. So I opened up mine and same thing it’s a different type of or there’s no way to unlock it, but I did go into settings and change it to, the default for the M2 whatever it did it added like four or five times as much loudness to it. It sounds very crisp and awesome. I think all I need to just add is a sub. Sorry I’m using voice translation and it’s late but I don’t wanna re-record all this. I hope you got yours. Working good.
Thank you for this video. I fixed a customer issue with this unlock tip.
Glad I could help!!

@@bjmmotorco, did you run your rca wires down yet?
When I select FM hit play and then hold day/night I only get the display settings screen
Make a video explaining how you run wires for sub
@@johndsundayme too how did you fix this
thank you
Obviously you don't take this offroad or work with it being so clean so just curious what you use it for?
Glorified golf cart lol. I drive it to the clubhouse to golf and they legalized us to ride them on county roads so I like to cruise and jam out.
Is there a way to hook the back 2 speakers to the JL amp. Thanks
Yeah, you could always brigade the front to 1 channel and the rear two to the 2nd channel as it’s a 2 channel amp
Did you move anything in the input voltage and filter settings?
Sorry late response! I changed the input up about a half turn, more than that you get the buzz through the speakers.
When I try to unlock by pressing the day/night button the only thing that pops up is the day or night icon to select. Please help!
@@LifeofJbird make sure to go to FM radio, then hit the play button before the day/night button
@@bjmmotorco yep I did that..I skipped that step and still adjusted the amp…I will try it again but for some reason it would not work for me.
What sub envlosure did you end up with???

My 24 defender jl audio amp has no access to the amp controls...just holes where the set knobs should be!
@@b.c.7799it should show the controls on the back cover, the. You remove the screw on the backplate and they’re are underneath it

@@JackFrost-jc1uy defintely add two 12” subs under rear seat, it will sound great!
What percent tint are you running?
20% on all 35% on windshield
Good thing you don't have a 2025 they change it now.
That’s no good, the 24 sounded terrible before unlocking the radio and cranking the amp up some.
My 2025 lonestar is coming in on Monday, what is different on the 25's?
The 2025 doesn’t have this option
I hate when they change things. I haven’t messed with a 25, sorry I’m no help on those I guess.
what does unlocking the head unit do?
Allows for more control and volume
What did you adjust head unit to
Default MM50@@zachelliott9355
Has to be unlocked as well to run RCA outputs for the subwoofer.
But how do you shut the dumb ass speaker led's off. At night they give a bad reflection
May be a power button on and off on the Light Mesh app. I will have to try it
I can hear your led are doing the same as mine in my Lonestar it’s like there’s a buzzing from the led lights goes off when I shut them off ??
