While I agree with all of your points, especially with how the Paxton somehow escaped the fool. Like you said, for the first two kills the Astrologer wastes no time, but with Paxton she decides to fool around & mess with him; why? Who knows & it’s strange that his escaped was off screen so we didn’t get to see it how he got lucky. It was predictable that he would escape sure because his card said he would help his friends, but I hate how the movie doesn’t answer the question as to how? & going back to what his card said; 2/6 of his friends lived & those 2 figured it all out by the time we see him again; so what was the point? The movie is just okay, especially since it does rely on a lot of old tropes; group of kids are at a party, they do something reckless & get cursed, oh no friends start dying one by one welp time to figure out where the curse came from, okay that was no help guess we gotta do it on our own while our friends still die, except for the MC & their love interest. I’ve seen this trope so many times before, the tarot & the lore were in fact the most interesting aspects of the movie which sucks that we see so little of it. But the thing that I disagree with is Haley struggling to let go of her mother. Somewhere in the beginning of the flim, she reassures Paige that there was nothing they could’ve done because Elise’s faith was sealed & talks about how she has accepted that this is they way life is because it happened to her mother. That it was in the cards, aka in faith & there was nothing to be done. So she does accept that her mother has passed. It isn’t until later, when she realizes that these deaths aren’t cause by natural causes, but by a vengeful ghost that she goes out of her way to defy “faith.” Still doesn’t make too much sense to me because towards the end she says “fuck faith” as if it was faith that killed her friends & it wasn’t but idk. Overall great video!
