Miss May, I am an educator in Washington state and I can tell you that our district desperately needs of on how to manage big behaviors like eloping, disrespect, defiance, and aggression. If you are serious about career change you should create an online counseling business that could parlay into professional development.

As a mother to an autistic child, I can say that for neurodivergent kids, the only way to truly end these behaviors is to support the unmet needs.
Unfortunately, that’s so hard to do in a mainstream classroom which is why I homeschool my child.

Hey Miss May!!! Your videos have been a source of inspiration for a few years now. Similar to you, I'm looking for a shift in my career even though I've only been teaching for 8 years (2nd grade all of those years).
Quick question: when you switched grade levels do you think it reenergized you for first grade?
I'm currently trying to figure out if I should change grades, change schools, or take a break from teaching altogether.

Hi! Thank you so much for your support! Only?! That's amazing to be in this career for 8 years! To answer your question...YES! I seriously believe moving to 1st helped me! I also believe leaving schools helped too. I LOVED my first school, but it was time to change. So I would tell you to, PRAY and ask God for guidance. He won't steer you wrong. I would think about what are you wanting more right now. Are you wanting more of a grade level change or more of a school change? Maybe both! Pray, Pray, Pray. Change can be so good. Many ((HUGS))
