There are so many fun features on machines now that make sewing more enjoyable. You should stop by your local sewing dealer to test drive some of the new machines and see what features you like 🙂
I think you are a wonderful, informative sales person! So refreshing to see someone who really knows their stuff, and also wants the right fit for the buyer! Thank you. I’m looking at buying a new machine but I live on the east coast. I wish I could get it from you!
We do have an online store. You can shop with us at www.QualitySewing.com If you have any questions feel free to reach out to a member of our team by calling 1-800-687-5175
I am glad you featured the BL Zeal. I bought this one for my 13 year old niece who was starting to sew. Seems like the perfect combo of features for a starting out sewist without breaking the bank. Also BL makes wonderful machines, whether mechanical or computerized. Even though it is fairly basic, it is a machine she should be able to use for years.
There were a couple different machines in the video. You can find them on our website at www.QualitySewing.com If you have questions about finding the right machine for you give us a call as we would be happy to help 1-800-687-5175
Guuau me encantó esa máquina, cómo dices realmente uno quiere practicidad para poder trabajar y que en una prenda que esté laborando y le pueda poner un pequeño detalle bordado, pues que a todo dar.
I’m a hard sell for a current style machine. I sew on a Featherweight and a Singer 201 but miss the option of zig zag or a few fancy stitches. Speed, automatic thread cutter, and most importantly a dependable 1/4” seam. I’m wanting to learn how to free motion quilt on it too, so a large throat is key.
It makes a big difference. It allows you to relax and enjoy the process rather than focusing on moving your hands at the exact same speed at all times. You can free-motion quilt without stitch regulation, but it is not as precise as the stitch lengths can vary depending on your speed and accuracy. Many people do free-motion quilt without one but once you have used a stitch regulator you don't want to sew without it.
Carmen is sewing on the Brother BQ1350 Sewing & Quilting Machine. You can learn more about it here www.qualitysewing.com/brother-innovis-bq1350-sewing-and-quilting-machine.html
The way you would select that setting is different from machine to machine. Refer to your owner manual for how to set up this feature on your machine, if it has it 🙂
Carmen was demonstrating on a Brother BQ1350. She was talking about features you can find on various machines and didn't want people to think that was the only machine that came with those features. Thank you for your feedback.
Really lady, why are you demonstrating a sewing machine that cost almost $3.000 dollars. Not everybody has that amount of money to spare on a sewing machine unless you have a company or have money to throw away.
It's been ages since I've bought a new machine. I had no idea functions had improved so dramatically. Watching you is like a magic show.

Hi. How important is having a stitch regulator on a sewing machine for free motion quilting?
It makes a big difference. It allows you to relax and enjoy the process rather than focusing on moving your hands at the exact same speed at all times. You can free-motion quilt without stitch regulation, but it is not as precise as the stitch lengths can vary depending on your speed and accuracy. The way you would select that setting is different from machine to machine. Refer to your owner manual for how to set up this feature on your machine, if it has it 🙂
Minimum requirements: needle threader, one step buttonhole, straight and zig-zag, top-loading bobbin.
