Yamaha DT's have always had a special place in my heart, since my Uncle and Dad's 1978 Yamaha DT 125's, were the first dirtbikes I was ever introduced to at the age of 5. That is one sharp looking bike, in a cherry red looking shade, of the color red.
Inevitably, whenever taking a a video or showing everyone our "first kick" bike, these will be the only times it WILL NOT start on the 1st kick! Hahaha is it a mental thing, we feel the pressure and don't kick it the same because of stage fright? I wonder sometimes! Very very nice bike. 🤟
Found one and bought it for a grand. Cleaned out the fuel system and threw in a battery. Lights were on It was turning over and on the third try it pulled a back to the future maneuver ( lights went off and no more cranking over??). Any idea were they hide the fuses? Is there any body out there. I’m an electrician not mechanic so I’ll have a good understanding on how to test and trace. Fuse box?
First bike I ever owned. 14 years old in 1993. Is run this thing to town, to school, I’d run it on my friends motocross track. I thought I was something on this thing. 😂. Surely wasn’t as nice as this one. I wanted it to look more like a dirt bike so I took the headlight off and I couldn’t ever get it to start after that. I just started cutting wires to get it off. So stupid.
I just found one in a barn. Going to start restoring it this winter
Sweet! I like the fact they came stock with a tach on the 125's too.
All the idiot lights work 😊😊😊😊Haven't heard that for years ...What a lovely wee 2 stroke man.
In 1980 my friends brother had a two stroke 125 Enduro and went all over the place on it. They are very affordable back then.

What's going on 2 plugs 1 coil.
People used to place a compression release in that spare hole.
In case one plug fouled, you would switch to the other one.
There is my 1st bike
The very first motorcycle I ever owned was the 1974 DT 125. I wish I still had it today.
