Be aware that this video demonstrates the most common error folks make in marking softball and baseball fields. Never center the line on the string. The string establishes boundaries. Marked lines should straddle boundaries only when marking parking lots. In softball and baseball, lines are part of the area they define. Take a peek at a NFHS or NCAA rule book to see how to properly measure and mark a field. Also, this video shows the double first base installed backwards.
The nail at the apex of the plate is never centered on top of the apex, it should run along the "roof tops" of the plate and set your nail there and run it all the way to your foul pole. Lots of guessing done here but gotta love volunteers for doing these jobs. I have been lining field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and softball fields for 30 years. Nice to see the young girl helping out.
You're correct but for younger players it may be too far forward. The line closest to the plate should be 6" but again that seems too far away for young players. I don't think the rule book gave much consideration to younger players in softball. Little League baseball uses smaller boxes than those required for adults. Softballl does not as far as I know.

Softball boxes are 3' x 7' with 4' of the box lying forward of the middle of the plate. 3' x 7' boxes are used for all levels above coach pitch. Softball requires 7' boxes oriented correctly to accommodate slapping. Beginning especially with middle school girls, incorrect boxes will have a negative effect on the game.

The batters box is wrong. It's 4' forward from center of the plate and 3' back from the center of the plate.

I think you should check the dimensions of ur field, from home to 1st and home to 3rd. Something is off.
