This video features six different classic rally cars and seven different tracks from around the world. The camera angle is clearly reminiscent of the Neo Drift Out games, but the handling, visuals and vibe feel feel much more like SEGA Rally. The current build features timed single-car races, but the full game will feature different game modes (with multiple cars on the track at once).
Such a charming game, it's nice to have an "updated" look to games like these. I think games like these should have the appreciation they deserve. I think many of us take them for granted when they were around in the arcades thirty years ago!
Your rally around Finland was Impreza. Awesome game! Featuring some of the finest vehicles in motorsports. Great sound design especially the clear navigator and pumping music. "The World Rally Drivers Championship goes to the first ever driver from Planet Alpha Beta Gamma...excuse me I meant Gamer. It appears to be some sort of typo."
4:52 Wow, that's a really engaged crowd. All turning away from the track, eyes locked at wahat is presumably a cat trying to hunt a squirell This game is about racing your demons to escape them and repeatedly finding out they have the best time on each track
Yeah, it's crazy that SEGA have just given up on arcade racing games. They perfected the genre then just abandoned it. Will check out Rush Rally tough, thanks for the tip! :)
@@AlphaBetaGamer SEGA have abandoned a ton of good IPs and lazily shipped out some in the early 2000's. I suppose the Football Manager and Total War money kills any desire to revive them lmao.
@@AlphaBetaGamer agreed, for a game that takes place on a track on a non-scrolling screen and takes up the screen with 4 trucks. it was still effective for a fun racing game and perhaps ahead of its time where you could upgrade your vehicle with the money you earned before the next race.
Brilliant game, I used to play that on PC. Multiplayer was dope. I've thought many times I'd love to make a new version of that but figure there's no market for it, but I keep seeing comments like this.
I was a huge fan of games like Super Off Road and Rock'N'Roll Racing growing up. The arcade version of Off-Road was amazing, with all the little wheels for the players standing next to eachother - it was a BLAST! I need this game in my life NOW
This is some very nice retro piece there. Some early PC race car games were implemented in this top-down scroller layout, like Micro Machines or Power Drive. Back then it was a technical necessity, but this is another fine example that a game is entertaining when the game is good, it does not have anything to do how the game looks like. I like this CRT raster aesthetic filter and also the fixed color palette. The game really makes a good effort to summon some late 90's presentation. The music is a mixed bag, not bad in any means, but 8-bit istrumentation is falling out of line here. Here I would have rather expected an OPLx impression. But otherwise, great stuff!
This game has so much charm and good about it. Love the progression/unlock system and the various weather and times of day. Such a peach of a game, it looks and runs brilliantly.. My only criticism would be there is no freeplay mode, all races' have you starting in last position and are only a few laps. Would love longer races and more customisation with a freeplay mode.
I played a game about 12 months ago, downloaded from the PS store, called American Fugitive, on my PS4. This looks as though if they had a racing section, this would have been it!

@@vijuda If there ever be a new Super Woden GP sequel, I hope Upgrades Shop will exist. A currency in any game will become useless/repetitive if we only spent it in just one way. In this case, only buying new car.

Wow! Looks like a big improvement over the original! I hope this gets a console release as well! Looks like the old Neo Geo games! Can’t wait! I think it would be even better if they added an echo effect, like what you hear in old school fighting games. Fits with the retro 8 bit music too.
If you play any rally game, this is the mechanics of them. So if you love racing where someone calls out directions look for rally games like Dakar.
