I hear you about the rain. Haven’t had more than 2 weeks dry since moving up here from TX in Oct. And to add just found out beavers blocked my 14” overflow in the pond so I have to go pull the plug, now 3’ underwater to drain back down to safe level without getting caught up in outflow. Joys of country living.
Like the fence work. We always use our son's Lincoln welder for a generator if needed. It's a great piece of equipment to have. We look forward to your reviews on the Kabota UTV.
it is pretty neat seeing how different people build fencing, like using the H brace and the angled brace and the steel pipe. Seems like it would be ok We do it a bit different with no H braces and we use the wood posts down here for the most part in Florida. Great video.
Wood braces rot quick and they burn as well very easily if there's a fire but if you don't use H braces than what do you use then? Just a single post by itself isn't really that strong like at the beginning or end of a fence line or next to a gate if you don't have either H braces or N braces.
@@Charliemmafan No we use what we call a deadman, you dig a trench in front of your corner post at a 90 degree angle to the direction you need to pull approx 4 foot long and 18 inches deep. you keep it tight to the corner post and cut a wood linepost in half and then lay them in the trench you dug. ideally the line post needs a little persuasion with a sledge hammer or another post used to drive them down into place lying lengthwise as it is a very tight fit. so when you make a pull the area of dirt used as resistance on an H brace is the width of the post, my way you have a 36 inch wide 8-10 inch tall wall of dirt.
I could have used that Sidekick the last couple days. I've been trying to put in a new fence line. Between having to cut down small trees (chain saw), to cutting back briers (clippers), to pounding in T posts (post driver), screwing in insulators (impact driver), and all the little odds and ends, I plumb wore myself out just hoofing the tools back and forth! 🙄 But, at least I don't have to worry about a gym membership! 😜
The pipe looks better by far ,I use light poles because they're free ! We're in NC wettest year we have ever had don't be to hard on your brother half the time I don't even put my gloves on
Your a man of all trades seems like there's nothing you can't do ,I have a husband of all trades to there isn't a thing he can't do lol. 😃Good for you reuse what you have good job .😃
re the rain , we have quite the opposite problem here of not enough rain, we have been in drought all last year and this year is not looking much better . i am on 86 acres just outside of Texas ( that's the real Texas in Queensland Australia not the one in the US ) last year we got 13 inches ofr the whole year which is less than half our annual average .anyway as they say every day it gets a little closer . johno
Well, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...now when have I heard that. LOL Wish you guys would get the fence finished so we can see what you are getting.
I didn't realize how tall and skinny you were till now. Juicing and eating goat meat is good for you. I like to use pipe if I have it but I've put up a lot of fence with wooden post.
I know this is an older video of your but I have a question. But what are your thoughts on in line braces (one 10’ pipe with a kicker on either side of it) vs h braces and at what spacing on longer stretches? Say 2000-3000’
The only true difference is n men and their boys is the size of their toys! Be sure to start the larger one and the track from time to time and take them for a spin around. So they will still feel like you like them too! 😂😂😂😂😂
Gonna be good fence and gate. Your teenager is like all or most teenager males, few words to adults. Still can't my boy or nephews talk to me in complete sentences. Get what you can get done, more rain coming.
I could be wrong but that is starting to look like a horse fence. Be not ashamed for 'plugging' GP. No better way to help people but by acknowledging a business that has gained your trust. Too often we need a service and have no clue where to go and who is dependable. Thank you.

Good day Arms family!
Pipe fence works great, I have used both pipe and wood. If you have a welder and cutting torch pipe all the way.

Great Fence!! New resident!
My dad always used post and had to replace years later. Metal seems much better

Using what you have on hand. It’s the homestead way! The RTV has replaced your John Deer almost!
