  • We are so excited to share this adventure with you! Come along for a 45 minute cable car ride out of the town of Zermatt, Switzerland high up into the Alps. The Matterhorn Glacier station sits at 3883 meters, making it the highest lift station in Europe. Throughout the journey there are breathtaking views of the iconic Matterhorn, and the Alps. At the view point (Panorama) on the summit, 38 peaks over 4000 meters are visible along with 14 glaciers. There's also a cinema lounge on top that shows a movie about the Alps, and then take the hike inside the glacier and view the beautiful ice sculptures as well as take a short slide through a tunnel. This is an amazing adventure filled with beautiful Switzerland scenery and mountains.

Zermatt recently opened a new cable car that provides a second connection to glacier paradise from the Italian side of the border. There is now a ticket that allows you to go from Zermatt to Cervinia and vice versa. 90 mins ride each way! Ticket called Matterhorn alpine crossing.

That is super cool! Looks like it is going to be open year round too! I saw in an email you asked how long the cable car ride was from Zermatt to the Glacier Paradise. When we skied there it was about 40 minutes. Sorry I couldn’t find your question on RUclips to respond. Appreciate you watching & the information! Sincerely, James Duke

@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt I am contemplating a trip to Europe from Australia in March 2026 which could be say, a week in chamonix, maybe 4 days in Geneva and then a few days in Zermatt then head straight back to Geneva airport to fly home. Does that sound like a good plan? Btw like you and your partner, I ski myself and my girlfriend does not haha.

@@anguscovoflyer95 Chamonix also has a non-skier activity going up to the Aguille Du Midi which is a beautiful cable care ride up to a very high cable car station, and they also have the little red cog wheel train that goes up to a glacier. I think your plan for a week skiing in Chamonix and 3 days in Zermatt will be enough time for you to experience and see all the terrain. Chamonix is a little more complicated than Zermatt. Some of the resorts in Chamonix are about 30-40 minutes by bus from town center, but I still think in seven days you could see and ski all the resorts. I would plan 10 days in Chamonix and 5 days in Zermatt to make sure I had time to ski everything as well as have a few spare days to play with my girlfriend Carmelita doing the sightseeing activities. @@YouDecideIsItWorthIt yep already aware of those non- ski activities (they recently opened a new gondola to get people closer to the ice caves at mer de glace).

Great work! So many good camera angles, including outside the gondola. Looks like an incredible place, close to the top of my bucket list.
Keep up the great work my friends!

I was there 9 years ago when the last stage gondola was not built yet. The only way to go to the top was a tram. It was in ski season. The line was 1 hour long. This bottleneck is apparently eliminated by the new gondola. Why are there no skiers in your video?

The new Matterhorn Glacier Ride gondola is super sweet! The day we filmed this video, Glacier Paradise was closed to skiing and boarding due to high winds. Foot traffic only. If you’ve watched our Zermatt ski resort video, there are more people skiing, but still really very few comparatively. Thanks for watching and commenting! Sincerely, James Duke

Thanks Bo! I’m on a sailboat cruise across the Atlantic and have been editing the Zermatt ski resort video. Hoping to be ready to post it when we get service in Europe. Zermatt is definitely the top of my list for scenic skiing! Hope you make it there next season.
