This was super helpful! Almost every panther guide I've seen just reruns over the basics, his combos, etc. I felt like i was capping out at a gameplay standard. Thanks a lot!! ^^ You deserve more recognition for making this
I’m not even already all the way through this and I’ve learned more about black panther than any other guide. You should consider doing vod review I would 100% watch. Fantastic educational content I love the way in which you specifically describe problems and solutions to them rather than being vague and generic.
I would love to do VOD reviews and would potentially do 1 on 1 coaching as content. The niche I'm targeting is truly panther mains who want to climb (although I'm finding that I know more about other characters than I expect atp so I feel like I could coach almost anyone to improve)
Something about this video just clicked with me. Rivals is my first hero shooter (coming from mobas) and I'm enjoying the game immensely. You reinforced and simplified what I think about ingame. Everything just made sense! Today was my first foray into competitive and I won 10 of the 12 games I played. The focus on pattern recognition is a top tier way of presenting educational content. What should I be thinking about while I play? Good positioning, target selection, staying alive. Learning about these things is incredibly helpful, especially since the mechanics in this game are very simple. Most other content I've seen is super shallow, so this is a breath of fresh air. Keep it up!
yo what a great video, finally not a guide with completely obvious tips. Btw, i think the most difficult part of black panther is actually picking him, because there is always 3 more guys picking dps
I dont know how known or not this is, but, much like genji ult, if you somewhere in your combo decide its a good time to ult, dashing onto marked target and then instantly dashing straight up and ulting, puts you in an amazing spot to eextend your combo and get a big ult / confirmed kill, plus the timing of you falling back to the ground syncs really really well with your ult wind up timer if you time it out right
Dang you’re going into such great detail and even zooming back to concepts like “gameplay loop”, I appreciate that you’re clearly thinking about this on your own and coming up with your own guide template. I’ve played all the popular PvP games, so many content creators copy-paste their guide templates, which are missing so much to begin with, and the community doesn’t bat an eye because they haven’t seen anything else. Someone that breaks this mold is bananaslamjamma in dota 2, but virtually every league guide on RUclips is the same copy pasted nonsense: useless 10 minute rant on runes which will be obsolete next patch, 10 minute rant on items which will be obsolete next patch, 10 minute rant on abilities which you already know, 10 minute rant on using your abilities on the opponent when your minions are low, and never any big picture or fine details like what you’ve explained.
I played 4000+ hours of Dota between 2016-2020 and I remember bananaslamjamma! Thanks so much for the kind words, I'm really trying to carve out my own niche and path when it comes to this game and the characters so I'm glad that's getting appreciation :D
This is the best guide of basically anything I've ever seen in my life, congrats. Almost every other guide just reruns the basic stuff and doesn't elaborate further, I feel that fundamentals such as looping, positioning, and choosing ur target are the most important aspects of any competitive game, and you explained them perfectly, thanks!!
At least you weren't screaming in all caps. I feel like a lot of Black Panther is pretty obvious once you spend more than an hour actually learning his mechanics. I kept doing his spin kick wrong until I realized double spear dash in insanely fast, and spin kick is required to kill a few non-tanks, and generally works better to chase or get out.
Dude, thank you for this. I usually watch other good players guide and tips, but they all look so flat and, in certain terms, useless. Like “these are the skills, here how you wanna use them”. This video is what a good GUIDE should really look like. Thank you.
That staging versus cheating section at the very end is very very helpful. I can tell how it can help me out a lot more, both with Black Panther and with Spider-Man.
One thing you can add to this: You can animation cancel his basic attack with V attack (melee), this sets up a one shot combo like: Spear, Dash, Atk+Melee, E Spin. And you are left with almost 2 spear at the end of it!
VERY informative, well paced , love this video/guide. Its also a really relax video with a calm/soothing voice showing how brutal panther can be while ripping stuff up.
Super helpful guide. Currently I only have around six hours on panther and I thought I had him down pretty well but I certainly learned some new things here! One of the only guides that doesn’t just go over the very simple abilities that you can just read off the ability description page. Well done!
u have extraordinary gamesense, this type of guides is what get help u get high elo, instead of all the tech mechanic type shit (which is important) but not even close to understanding where ur hero shines in a more macro/strategic level, i believe the game loop of spidey and panther are quite similar except for the fact that spiderman has even more in and out potential being more forgiving due to that but also more difficult mechanicallly to do good w him
Thank you! Yeah they're interesting to compare, honestly I always felt like spidey was even tougher because of how counter-able he is. Spidey feels like a higher risk-reward version of panther.
Very helpful I’m gonna practice in quick play currently gold rank atm. Stopped playing BP in rank cos my team flamed me but with this new technique and mindset I hope I can climb and gain confidence in picking him again ❤
Epic! Thanks for the tips. I'm just getting into learning black panther and its really fun! Love seeing in depth guides like this so early into the game's release.
glad to see something like this, I hit diamond 3 as a panther main on pc and started to cap out on my skill and felt like I just started inting doing the same thing I did on my climb out of silver. Glad to see some actual variation in a guide and really helpful tips :)
This is exactly the guide I was looking for! I was struggling using this character and you opened up my eyes when bringing up so many points. Thank you!
who??? ive been looking to see if anyone else was doing it bc I was pretty confident I was one of, if the not the first people to start implementing it. very curious
This was very helpful in general, beyond the Panther mechanics (which were also helpful). As a person who was hardstuck Platinum and below in OW, a lot of this made sense and I think it will help me clean up my play in Rivals. Thanks!
Great masterclass, not a panther main (Climbed to Diamond with Hela). This concepts can mostly apply to psylocke, magik, and moon knight (kind of). But the principles here are goated from the minimum take away 3 item list. But Panther seems so fun, imma start with the mechanics first in practice range, then ai games, then qp and finally in diamond matches. Thanks for making this!
amazing video as a black panther main, a constructive criticism i would give is that the audio volume is too low, obviously i just turned it up but on my default volume which would be good for any other youtube video was too quiet on here. Otherwise amazing video; gave points I never heard of before and demonstrated the concepts through actual gameplay
Something I've been experimenting with, is delaying my engaage after a mark. More so when the enemy team is aware I'm around. Spear, wait 3/4 cd proc mark before it expires and you now have 3 spears to work with, possibly 4.
One tip that can help with the the dash lenght is doing a quick jumping before dashing, so the sash does not slide, you basically do the genji dash, try it out, it's very fun
Excellent guide. Watching at work so can't finish it quite yet so ignore if you covered it already in the video but: I have personal difficulties when they pick Penny Parker because her spider mines are super strong as an anti dive tool. As panther it's difficult to get rid of the spider nest yourself as you're primarily melee so if your team doesn't cooperate to destroy the nests, what do you do / recommend? Do you switch off or is there a different play style you adopt?
Planning on covering this in a video on matchups, but team coordination is certainly important- you want your tank to clear mines if possible and you have to be very careful about your dives and her stun. She's a direct counter, so it'll always be tough, but I'll be thinking harder about this matchup for the next video!
Hey man really great guide! Was wondering if you had a few notes on specific matchups/heroes that are good for panther and that are hard for him to play into. Also if you have any thoughts on maps that especially good/bad for panther! Liked and subbed!
Actually such an amazing guide I’m a Panther main but seeing your guide actually helped even more Also this might be a dumb question but how is your KO counter purple?
it keeps you close to your target allowing you to left click in between your abilities and deal more damage per second! if you dash straight through, you end up very far away from them
Honestly, this guide is so good it should be taken as a general ressource for any dive character in any shooter game, should you play Panther, Spidey, Psylocke, Ball, Tracer or what not. Such great work
@@karkatsg It's funny because I'm a ball main and I was like "yeah this checks out, yeah this too, this too" and Irealized before being a Panther guide this is really just an excellent and concise yet precise dive guide. I wonder if you've ever seen yeatle's ball guide with his scout setup engage moto, I found really clever that you add the "wait for an opportunity" part which is widely overlooked. Patience is key when playing dive, you always want to do more and faster when taking things slow is such a powerful way to play.
@@luniquerango138 I haven't seen the yeatle guide but it does sound very similar to Spilo's "off angle, timing, pressure". That's basically what I scream in my head 24/7 when playing genji and panther lol
I was a genji player and tried floordashing and immediately gave up because I thought it'd cover the same distance regardless. Now I see I can, this will be fun :). One problem I have is that when I'm dashing it will do a double dash, leaving me with no escape and I just die. Is there any way to avoid this because this was never a problem in OW, I assume its because I'm holding down the button a moment too long. Do I just need to tap it quickly?
Could you elaborate on dashing while looking at the ground? How reliable is it and how much control do you have over the distance you travel? Feels like if I'm already on top of someone it's pretty much impossible to stick to them after a dash
It's as reliable as you are (some exceptions for the terrain, like a ledge or lip might screw you over). You control the distance based on how far into the ground you look. If you're literally on top of someone, you want to look almost straight into the ground but not quite. The key is to practice and experiment!
You want to make sure you're up close and personal to the person you're targeting, and then just make sure your crosshair is in their general direction. Since panther is melee, you dont have to aim perfectly for your hits to land. If that's still a bit of a struggle, you may want to practice your overall aiming fundamentals. The best thing to work on this is just more time in the game!
Instant sub bro this is great. Do you have a discord or anything? It would be sick asf if panther mains could share clips to review mistakes and get better
I’m trying to improve my magik and I’m not sure when I should flank and look for one shots and when I should brawl closer to my team. I feel like a lot of the macro play like positioning and timing is similar for the flankers so any tips would be helpful.
I'd say pretty much 95% of the time look to flank, but don't stress about literally hitting one shots. Your goal as a flanker is to add additional angles of pressure the enemy team has to deal with. When you brawl with your team, the enemy team only has to look in the direction of your team to deal with the pressure. When you flank, they now have at least two directions they have to pay attention to. Splitting enemy attention wins games!
my favourite character to play in MR so far although not my main, still trying to learn him but I keep getting rolled. I actually often use the 3rd variation combo u mentioned in ur video so that's good I guess
Isn't Rend bugged as hell? I can't count how many times it went on cooldown when it shouldn't becasue it hit the target with the mark applied. The reset stat under TAB even goes up after that when Rend doesn't reset cd...
