Wow, linking inflammation proteins associated with senescence with free mitochondrial DNA, is huge. I wonder if fasting, or fasting mimicking diets, trigger mitophagy of damaged mitochondria? Would it be possible to check the blood for mitochondrial DNA before and after a fast? Anyhow, testing for free mitochondrial DNA in blood should be a faster and more direct link to measuring the efficacy of aging treatments, if the link proves out.
