    I think the reason you are so able to re-evaluate, reinterpret and reimage so many elements is because you are self taught. You have always made up your own rules. At this stage, you are more like a master design chef. This one blew my mind. Love love love

    With the initial view of the kitchen, the “energy” was perfect. Later revealed, of course it was the green! It is so refreshing to hear a designer reveal the rationale behind the design and then actually share their sources. What a privilege to learn from you. Please know that you are making such a such contribution by empowering others to achieve their dream homes. Many thanks!

    OMG this kitchen, is probably one of my top 3 fav's overall! It's such a great example of biophilic design! Here's why: First the 3 pendant lights are so organic in shape, they look like snow drops from the ceiling, or naturally shaped river stones that have been well worked over in a strong flowing glacial river bed. And the chairs at the table? What is the source of those? I just love them. They have a beautiful curve and organic shape~! AND all of the gorgeous stone vases on the breakfast bar? I would LOVE to order these. Next, the idea of multiple gathering options which allows for a true communal space for different groupings of people. The marble backsplash with a green reflective in the color of glacial water. Finally, the INCREDIBLY beautiful marble backsplash at the bar! This is my fav. piece of marble you have ever used SR! All of this connects directly to what is outside in that environment. "Channel 1" as SR calls it. Totally inspiring! location is KING here! The kitchen feels like a tree-top kitchen! All of the gorgeous views bring nature right into the kitchen and I love that!! Biophilic to the MAX but with such style and elegance added! I JUST LOVE THIS! This is probably my top 3 kitchens by SR!
    Next, the unique and beautiful features and workarounds that are used in the kitchen! ith that gorgeous green element). Next, THAT RANGE! WOW! LOVE the avocado green! Next, LOVE the brass accent which is a workaround to make the counters 1.5 inches. But what an upgrade in effect!! It just ups the drama factor in the kitchen. Next, I LOVE LOVE LOVE mixing neutrals and brass and greys together. GORGEOUS. Next, I just LOVE the white racing stripe detail to highlight the construction element (which most might see as a limitation of the size of the stone but why NOT call attention to the feature by adding a unique and really cool element!). Such a great idea!! Finally, the shape of the island which is wider on one end, following the shape of the room. LOVE THIS idea! Next, that backsplash is BONKERS amazing!! WOW, I think it's my favorite element! It looks like an outline of the Whistler mountains! Whoever rents Haus Heidi is super lucky, that's for sure!
    Finally, the design choices, from the gorgeous cabinetry two-tone color choices (Kitch). Next, that Marble choice for the backsplash (I bet TS is happy because he finally got his dramatic backsplash, and the brass accents throughout but in combination with silver-toned (faucet on the coffee bar) and hardware selection just ups the elegance factor.

    How do you hide the metal tile trim where it goes around the seating end of the bar? i.e. it's not sandwiched between the lower cabinet and countertop. I particularly love your videos when you explain how you achieve the look, as you did with the floating desk, and how you approach solving problems, as you did with the marble that was too narrow. I love the end result visually, but equally, enjoy the how and the why. You are very generous with your knowledge and expertise - thank you!

    • @SarahRichardsonDsgn

      Thank you!! I installed a stone tile carpet accent in between the cooking area and the sink/dishwashers. The rest of the kitchen features wide plank European white oak floors, but a stone pad in between the sink and the oven ensures that the floors don’t get damaged with the mess generated by cooking and cleaning up.

    I hesitate to be contrarian, but, the green of the range IS kinda a lot, a great deal, like the Avocado Green of the 60's.
    But, everything else is so different, including how the sunlight lands on us here on the planet surface, that it surely MUST be different!!

    Sarah, I've either forgotten (if you referenced the kitchen floor on another video entirely), or ? Somehow missed it! Do you happen to recall that floor? Marble? Tiles? I would imagine so ..

    May I ask where you the got the artwork hanging on the right side of the desk? It’s quite stunning.💜💜

      Absolutely! That piece is by Stacey Bodnaruk (@artography27). We featured another of Stacey's pieces on the top floor lounging area of Haus Heidi. I completely agree with you: quite stunning!!!

    I'm curious about how the lighting performs at night. I hate a lot of recessed lighting breaking up a ceiling but it feels necessary for after dark food prep. There doesn't seem to be anything over the breakfast table and with no upper cabinets, no under counter lighting. Sarah likes to cook, so she would think about this. How does it work??

    This was fabulous but I am extremely interested to know how you conceal electrical outlets, as I can't see any anywhere.?

    • @SarahRichardsonDsgn
      @SarahRichardsonDsgn  Год назад

      Those are simple styling tricks. If you put an object in front of an outlet, it makes a far better photo 😉. Zoom in behind the stack of bowls on the countertop over the small fridges. Shhhhh...you didn't hear it from me 😉

    It's a great rental kitchen. The lower cupboards the boxes appear to be a shade darker than the doors???? I was interested in your discussion on oil from your hands on surfaces. What is a cleaner that removes that oil and does not hurt the finish? I will forever balk at a lovely banquette with a table that does not reach the entire thing. Even if I am just hanging, while other's worked, I would probalby have a cup of something and want a table to set it on. A table for four in a space that sleeps so many is very frustrating for the renters--ask me how I know!!!!?

      Thanks for tuning in! I think you'll be pleased when we show more of the dining area on the opposite side of the kitchen wall - plenty of good seats available! A quick Google search should be able to help you find the best product for removing oil...just be certain you know the material you're applying the product to, as you never want to damage the finish. Good luck!

    Beautiful of course ❤. However I din‘t see any task lighting over the sink and to the right of the sink. Also no overhead at baking zone/breakfast bar ?🤔

    • @SarahRichardsonDsgn
      @SarahRichardsonDsgn  Год назад +1

      Thank you! The pendants that hang to the left of the sink, combined with the overhead pot lights, provide just enough illumination in the evening to comfortably work at the sink. The baking zone is flanked by two gorgeous sconces. We gave the kitchen a great test drive, and it functions beautifully both day and night!

      @@SarahRichardsonDsgn of course, how could I doubt it 😀. I looked for pot lights but couldn’t see any, hence the question. I obviously didn’t look close enough 😬

    Hi Sarah, I need help. My daughter has five kids & works from home, my beautiful farmhouse sink island is a mess with clean dishes drying on one side & leftover food on the other side. I need “beautiful” dish drying & organization video or pic ideas for my island for everyday use. Help!…

    So….is the Schluter set back from the stone top a little? I couldn’t tell, in some pics it looks flush, in others clearly recessed?

    Why are there so many gable ends on the base cabinets? Doesn’t this interupt the toe kick and become a trip hazard?

    Вы конечно потрясающая, но вам нужны большие площади чтобы реализовать ваши идеи. Но попробуйте расположить кухню на пяти квадратных метрах с техникой и
    обеденным местом....
    Это стандартные размеры сталинок))

      I always recommend that too. The pendants off to the side were a definite experiment - but it worked out! Between those and the overhead pot lights, the sink is perfectly illuminated when you need it! Thanks for watching 🙂
