- Quintessential Essential Selection edits from one Friday evening in the Summer of 1992, including the following tracks: Acen's Trip II The Moon (1FM Dance Chart number one for that week), Mantra's Intensify, and finishing off this mini-selection with Urban Shakedown & Micky Finn's Bass Shake, part of the Non-Stop Mad Music Sweep.
Loved Pete Tong's Essential Collection on a Friday night. In the early 90's was too young for clubbing but loved the tunes. Like thousands I sat and taped this. Happy days.

These really were the days....all the tunes he played were quality, not like these days. The jingles, his voice, wow!
God almighty, this takes me back!!!! I even used to listen to Jeff Young's Big Beat Show that eventually morphed into The Essential Selection with Pete Tong! Good times.
This is so good to hear again!!! I remember getting ready for a night out listening to Petes non stop mad music suites!!!! Thanks so much for the upload!!! I am 21 again yeah!! :)

track at 4:20 is Mantra - Intensify (I love you version). And the tape is slow; if you listen the original intensify, you can here it's faster.

Shame. I was learning to drive in an Allegro at the time. No one was gonna nick that!
If you listen, the music is also pitched down. You probably played it back on a tape machine which runs at a slighly different speed to the one it was recorded on. You can correct the pitch of the recording with many software packages that are free.
