She's gorgeous!. I remember seeing this 90 CR for the first time in late 89 or early 90. I went to Fremont (CA) Honda to look at some bikes one day, but they were closed, so I looked in the window. It was a lil dark and it was kinda hard to see. I saw a white and red bike and I was a bit perplexed. My initial thought was the it might me an XR, and I thought "Wow, maybe Honda raised their XR game, that thing looks sick". I'm not sure when or how I finally learned it was indeed a CR, but I was initially disappointed in the white coloring, just coming off the 88/89 blood red beauties. I did learn to really like it tho. I even liked the 91's!. I dunno, they just looked good in person, my buddy had a 91 CR500 that I loved
I had the 1990 CR 500 (way too much bike for me) and this brings back fond memories. I agree that the 1990 CR's were good looking, not quite as nice as the 86 CR's, but nice clean looking machines. If you ever need an idea for a bike review, consider the Honda XR 600, it was probably the best all around dirt (not mx) bike ever made.
I have watched all of the videos on this bike separately, so it is good to now see them all together in 1 single video. Beautiful bike. I hope that my Honda CR250 comes out half as nice looking as this. Well that is if I can ever get my 1998 Kawasaki KLX300 build completed 😞. Once again great job Tony. 👍
I know it’s been a long time ago n you prolly won’t red this but I got my 1990 CR 125 back and restored it and fell in love all over again. It’s Amazing !!!!!!! Like what you done with the 250 n hope you still have it they r a blast to ride !!!!!! Keep on SMOKIN !!!!!!!!! Cause I am !!!!!!
Thing is so rad!!! I had the 1990 Stanton bike poster on my wall when I was a kid. It was definitely worth all the waiting and work! Thanks for the in-depth video tony.
Another good one! That bike looks FANTASTIC! I have been meaning to restore my 1987 Merlin DG-3, a solitary remnant of my racing days; I wanted to compete in Trials to improve my overall riding skills. It’s the only motorcycle I never sold or got rid of. I bought it new in 87’ when I lived in Oregon. It’s the most obscure trials motorcycle In the world....I think there were only about 13 imported into North America. I took it down to the frame back in 2005 and just when I was in the early restoration phase, Hurricane Katrina’s devastated the shop it was in. When I went to retrieved the parts they were under three feet of water.... i still have everything, meaning to try and restore it one of these days...
Beautiful bike man! I love the 1990 look. One of the best. You could've had some material added to the seat cover to make it usable. It would've been hidden under the seat, so no issue for looks.
@The Motocross Vault It came out gorgeous anyway though. The seatcover you used was more in line with how the bike looked. Beautiful build & awesome content. It's always a joy to catch your vids. Thank you for all the work you do to put them out. One of the best trips is a trip back down memory lane.👍
Tony love all your videos. I just picked up an 86 cr250 and was wondering if you could share some of your resources on the guy in Italy with the graphics. Thanks
I wish u would a review of a mid 90sor late 90s cr500..i onow it was same from bout 92 on..but i am sure they upgraded the suspension some in the last few years ..i grew up on 83 480..luved it...lite as a feather..controllable big bore power really let u rip it..forks bounced off every jump😱 got used to it
Great to see what you’ve done with that used looking base project bike. Looks amazing. I agree, I wouldn’t want to take it out after all that work. Looks so fresh n new I have a 91 CR250 that I’m about to have restored. It’s my original bike I used to race. So had some fond memories of what I used to do on it. I’m way too old now for that stuff now. 😉 Anyway the first upgrade will be the suspension, then an engine rebuild and port cleanup followed by new after market pipe and I was thinking about a Lectron Carb. What are your thoughts for these upgrades? I want race at in the VMX class so don’t mind investing some coin if it improves performance.
You are "about to have restored"??? Do it yourself. It's not rocket science. If you have the physical ability to race, than you have the ability to restore a bike. Good luck.
Dewey B I will be stripping it back myself and doing the basic mechanicals frame resto. But I’d prefer to leave suspension mods and porting to the pros.
I'm from New Zealand and just brought a 1990 CR250. I paid $3500 and it's in amazing condition. Will ride it for a year then do a ground up rebuild. All the best with your rebuild
I am thinking of picking up a 1990 cr125 and I am wondering how the Race Tech gold valved forks turned out. Would you recommend re valving the forks or getting later model forks?
@@TheMotocrossVault thank you for your timely response. I must say I'm a bit surprised that Race Tech got those Forks working so well. Did they also fix the problem of the oil getting contaminated so easily?
dude i have a 1990 cr250 im restoring and i cant find the right side clutch case anywhere! do you know what other year models will fit a 1990 by any chance?
They are a wheeln dealn vintage bike/mx mueseum/dealership in the New Englandish area. Pretty cool dudes, mx junkies like all of us on here lol. They do some vintage/revo racing too. They do bike restorations as well.
I’m aching with nostalgia.

So lucky to have that bike. My best friends uncle who we used to ride with had bought one brand new in 90. Those were so fast.

Did Ole Steve buy you a new seat cover? I would have been pissed

Dale Hicks For me at least they performed flawlessly and worked very very well they were far more plush than my 2016 KTM or my buddies 2015 RM-Z
