I owned a 2003 kx250 purchased brand new. Loved the bike being a bit mellow in power, made it an easy bike to ride. Sold it to a 125 rider who was scarred of 250s, 1 ride on the 2003 kx250 and bike was sold to him

I have a 2003 Kx250. Was sitting for some time in garage. So i drain the gas, new spark plug, and new jets. With a carb clean, then started up 2nd kick. Rode it for the summer then put it away during winter. Finally started it yesterday and started up after some kicks and idled well and rode well. I'm impressed with the reliability. Fast bike too. My kx250 is all original and stock.

My 2003 KX250 with a fmf fatty gold series and a pro circuit r304 pipe is just as fast as my 09 Suzuki RMZ450 if not faster which is a rocket already

Excellent review, I had a 97 99 and 02 back in the day... Won several Enduros and Harescrambles and placed very high at many National events, they were a off road weapon with proper setup and servicing the linkage almost every race...Just look at Ty Davis and Larry Rosseler results during those years..Keep up the good work Tony!!! Best off-road channel on RUclips ✌🏻

Awesome video Tony, your information is always spot on 100% correct!! Nice work!
While on the KX250s, just thought Id mention that I know the guy who has the last ever KX250 (2008) that come completed and boxed from the Kawasaki Heavy Industries offroad motocyles production line. The actual last one made wasnt all put together on the PL instead was taken off and put together completed and taken to the Kawasaki museum. The second last made was also completed and given to Mitch Payton at Pro Circuit for all he did and is in his museum. The last 10 bikes that were on the production line (or 20,.not sure as yet) as a thankyou from Kawasaki were fitted into the shipping boxes with left over KRT parts and parts from the marketing department who fitted aftermarket parts for media photos and video shoots..ie, many bikes that were on film in their sales videos secretly had parts like PC silencer, DID rims, aftermarket fork internals, etc etc to go fast and look good. These 20 bikes were suppose to be shipped and given to certain dealerships although awaiting for confirmation if this actually happend. One of them believed to be the sixth last ever made was auctioned in Australia at the Crown Casino in 2009 for $31,000.USD to a buyer in Dubai to be added to his 44 bike collection of motocross bikes one being Jeff Wards KX250 and one being Rick Johnsons championship bikes although Im not sure which. Apparently the AMA rider Larry Brookes was at the auction and was with the buyer, this too is third hand info. Fyi..a friend here in Australia is still working on getting the 'Aussie flying freckle' (Jeff Leisk) for a video interview with you, will be in touch. Cheers.👍

Thats better than the word SALUBRIOUS. The KX motor was salubrious. Adjective - healthy, good, bloody ripper. Lol

I had a 98 with a boyesen porting and engine work, it was sooooo fast. Probably not quite as fast in a straight line with my 01 CR 250 but the 98 kawi sounded so much better and was some much easier ride fast on track. My favorite bike off all time, im old guy, only roade a few ne ones. 01 was an extremely porwerful CR cr 250, but that 98 kx 250 had some real bark and great stability for high speed tracks,

Wish I would have never gotten rid of my '03. I think I did a spacer mod in the power valve that helped power smoothness if I recall correctly? Was a great bike. And the pearl shroud graphics looked so awesome in the sun.

Also loved the previous soundbite at the beginning of your videos with the two-stroke roosting in the background. Really like to find a good two-stroke sound like that to be my ringtone.

You have phenomenal knowledge, do you know if the handlebars of the 99-02 KX250 were all the same or did they change its geometry? I know they have different part numbers but perhaps this is only because they are painted in different colors? The 2000 is green and the 2002 is silver but is there any other difference except the color? I rebuild a 2000 and wanted to buy a new OEM 2000 handlebar but it was discontinued by Kawasaki so I purchased a 2002 handlebar.

So i know u said your 06 was a quirky handler with a stinkbug jacked up stance in the rear but i was thinking could that of been the previous owner settinv it up like that cuz i would think the issue could of been mitigated by raising the forks higher on the clamps and then possibly lowering the rear end by lessening the preload at its lowest setting(and most likely up the spring rate to stiffen up the low preload since tension. Was lessened by adjusting preload low o. The shock body threads.).....i would think by tinkering with both those adjustments one could easily level the bike out and even have the front end up a bit hivher like it should be cuz ..i know on all my bikes i can do these adjustments to gain any stance i wannted on any machine so u think u could of done that and made bike alot more intuitive for your own needs or was the design and geometry such that it didn't allow much room for modification when it came to getting a individuals preferred stance 4 their RIDING style

@@TheMotocrossVault man that is so awesome what's cool about this bike is my uncle bought it probably 12 years ago and it had barely been ridden then and he rode it maybe three or four times since then because as soon as he got it before he got his protective gear he went out for a test spin and broke his ankle LOL it's not funny but either way it's in pristine condition and I've never owned a Kawasaki I've always owned Honda or Yamaha my very first dirt bike was a 1987 YZ 80. And the 900$ price I'm paying is really a great deal about half of what it's worth in that condition.

    • @Jimmy_Watt
      @Jimmy_Watt 4 года назад

@@2strokin70 If it really is in that good of shape, it is a steal for that price. If you don't have experience on powerful big bikes, be very careful, and wear some gear please. I just say it because I want people to enjoy our sweet hobby for decades. Cheers.

Do you know if the swingarm on a KX was painted silver or was it anodized aluminum? I want to know because I rebuild it and want it to look like it came out of the factory. Thanks

Anything different on the 04KX model?

    • @TheMotocrossVault
      @TheMotocrossVault  3 года назад +1

For 2004 they added Forged one-piece (instead of two arms)
      Uni-Trak link that anchors to a 2Omm-longer
      swrngarrn.
. Frame is lighler, and some cross tubes and
brackets were modified to enhance cornering
      clearance.
      . New semi-sealed 48mm Kayaba fork with
more compact front-axle brackets, shorter axle
      and aluminum axle collars.
. Cenler of the seal is 8mm higher and cover
      is nonslip.
. Footpegs (3mm) and rear brake pivot
      (11.Smm) raised for improved ground
      clearance and riding position.
. Reshaped combustion chamber with higher
      compressron.
      . Straighter carburetor air ducts.
      . Stronger radiator side brackets.
      . Stronger engine-mount bolts, pipe-mount
      brackets and chain guard.
. Revised port timing and tin-plated piston with
      fine oil-retaining grooves.
