That is some hard work but once you start finding them you have a real treasure! I saw that Gypsy had the right idea of getting in the shade in a dug out spot, the ground was cooler for her too! She is a genius!
There's a little crusty top to the dirt here. After that the digging is super easy. I just don't think that digging in the loose dirt is the best way to find good material. I need to find the layer that has the geodes, but I need that layer to be within a foot or three from the surface.
Just watching this now…wow such hard work to find anything… I loved how you looked after Gypsy first before yourself…it speaks volumes about you…glad I found your channel…
That first hole you dug wasn't a total waste as it served a nice little shady den for poopers.. I don't know a lot about rocks yet, I've always liked looking at them and bugs and birds and plants.. but I'm learning little by little thanks to you. I enjoyed the footage.
Could just be they’re to deep or to many people have been there.unfortunately when people are allowed to do digs like this they usually take advantage of it.
I believe there are plenty of geode rocks out there. Digging through the loose dirt is not the way to find them though. I just wanted to see for myself.

In the past I have often needed to have 2 digging holes side by side. One for Gypsy to lay in, and one for me to dig. :D
