  • Hey Guys! I'm sure many of us Skoda Laura fans, or even those planning to buy a used Skoda Laura diesel, have spent many sleepless nights wondering how to differentiate between the 1.9 PD (Pumpe-duese) TDI and the 2.0 CR (Common rail) TDI.
Well, I've answered all those questions and more in this short video, including an engine that many of you might not be aware of.... Yes, it's another 2.0 TDI, but not as you would expect!

The CR facelift model base Ambiente has the pre facelift gear knob. Only the elegance and upper models got the one with the chrome ring! Apart from that great video man. My car happens to have the PD cluster even though it’s a CR. Now I know why my ASR off light looks different than the one from a friends car from 2011.

Hey, so I drive a 2010 Laura L&K TDi. I have the dual pipe exhausts. Is my engine a 2.0 TDI or a 1.9 TDI? My RC says 1.9 TDI

If the exhaust tips face downwards, then it's a PD TDI.
      I guess the 2010 L&K's are 2.0PD only.

Hi , I own Skoka Laura L&K 2.0 TDI AT 2012 model , I m very much happy with comfort , performance and luxury of my vehicle , coming to my vehicle mileage conditions , I hardly get 10-11 max in City sometimes even 8-9 ( without AC) and on highways max I can reach to is 12-13 km/l , Checked with couple of automobile experts and even did some sensor tests (costed 1.2k) and they said all parameters are perfect and vehicle is in good condition and they said since it's AT max is 12 , Services are also upto date with new Air filters .
But I hear Laura offers easily 17km/l on highways ..
So can u plz help me with this query ? Is is what AT can give max of 12 ? If not , please tell me the measures to take care of..
Note : Driving is Normal and smooth (no harsh ) with 80-110 on highways !

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  2 года назад

Hi buddy. How many km on the odometer?
Try checking and maintaining your tyre pressures (around 31 to 33) is ideal.
Next, ensure you use good quality fuel, also try using a liqui moly injector cleaner (search on amazon)
Try gentle throttle inputs. If you live in a hilly region, mileage will be less.
Also, 17 to 20 kmpl is on open road cruising, anything above 15 is good on the highway and City above 10 is also pretty good only.
After all, its a big 2.0CR diesel

@@JRSCars it's has done 1.35L kms. But ya, the engine mounts are fine.
Recently the entire fuel system was changed including diesel filter, fuel pump, 4 injector nozzles and common rail. The mechanic mentioned that the 3rd cylinder was misfiring but he resolved that..
I still think that one of the cylinders is misfiring and hence the shaking.
If the car is stationary and i press full throttle, there is no shaking throughout the rev range. But once we start driving the car, it starts shaking so much as if the car is just gonna fall apart.
