But she stayed and received disrespect from the countless women my father brought after her. Yet she took in all the children. My mom was emotionally tortured. But she stayed...but she developed a heart condition. Has gone thru many surgeries. This is a very sensitive topic and truly every relationship is diff depending on why people went into it in the first place. My dad eventually died regretting all he did but my mom is never the same. She wasn't even allowed to work. But society saw my family as a great one but we had our inner battles. My mother is a hero...I pray God sustains her and my my daddy rest in peace

I was 18, he was almost beating me to death and my 2 year old son screamed mummy in tears from the door, that was the time i knew it was over. I didn't want to raise a son like my ex husband, I left with my son, and I am glad i am raising a boy with soft spot and cocience.

What the children sees and experience is very important, some men are abusive today because that's what they saw... A temporary change of environment is important, while the parents go through counselling/healing and possible fixing, if not abusive cycle continues.

My neighbour beat his wife to death a while ago, her 3 children were split (the youngest was only a few months old the oldest 8). If she had left that marriage, maybe she would have still been here and her children would have been better off.

If one can be exposed to teachings like this times and again...many things will change both with the men and women... Just same way we got schooled to become Doctors, Engineers, Accounts...etc; we have to be schooled to be good husband's and wives...cos many were raised in disfunctional homes, which became our default marriage beliefs and state.
