As an older subscriber I mean this in the most loving big sis way possible, don’t grow up too fast. I’d do anything to go back to a less complicated time when mom and dad helped with everything. I’ve been an adult and on my own since 18 (10 years now) and I’m desperately trying to get closer to mom and dad but work and life always pulls me away. Take as many trips home as possible. You will miss the trips to Barnes with mom.
Can I just commend you for being so vulnerable? Moves can be so great and so exciting and so wonderful but they can also be really sad and scary. Not enough people acknowledge that. I moved out of my mom's house when I was THIRTY and I still cried the entire drive to my new apartment. Thank you for letting us see the not-so-sunny side of you. I think it's important and I think it's brave of you to let us in.
I'm 60 years old and I have had huge things happen in my life. Big changes, death of a husband, family members defending our country in foreign wars etc. So proud of you for taking this big step so courageously ♡ You have handled things beautifully ❤

I’ve found the best way to overcome homesickness those first few days is just to keep yourself busy whilst you adjust, and you’ll be used to it before you know it! Phoning your family regularly also helps them not feel so far away
I’m literally crying at your last look around the room. These moments of transitioning into a new chapter are so so so bittersweet. Can’t wait to see what’s ahead for you!!!
Des being real about leaving her home brought tears to my eyes. It’s hard, and people don’t like to show that, I appreciate you and am excited for this journey!🤍🤍
The tears in my eyes because we’re not going to have another vid in this room again. So excited for you to start this next chapter of you life. Love you Des

what you said about your favorite books not being your favorite if you hadn't moved onto the next chapter got me teary-eyed !! so happy for you and this new chapter in your life.
as someone who has lived in the same house for 20 years I am so proud of you Des. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to not only move out but as far away as you did. I've been an AVID watcher for over 2 years now and you've motivated and inspired me to be confident in posting my own book videos. you got this and we are always here for you.
Was shooooook when I saw the title!! But so proud of you! It's incredibly hard to move away from your family. I moved from TN to NYC almost 8 years ago, and I'm now in my 30s. It's overwhelming, and you're going to learn a lot and go through a lot. Some bad, but mostly good. But it's worth the growth that you'll experience during this time. Some advice is to: 1. Stay in touch with your family, but don't dwell on your past and obsess over what you're missing. Know that they're always a phone call and plane ride away. 2. Discover your new routines, but don't be afraid of experiencing all the new things. You're in a totally different part of the country now! Take advantage of it. 3. Have open communication not only with your partner, but also your housemates. And, I cannot stress this enough, IT'S OK TO SET BOUNDARIES WITH THEM! It's hard enough living with a partner, but adding other housemates in there can cause stress if y'all don't have convos about boundaries, routines, lifestyles, groceries, cleaning, etc. 4. Find your new doctors, hair dressers, dentists, etc, as soon as you can! You'll be happy you did your research before you need them. So excited for the next chapter in your life. Make the most of it, it'll be a great adventure.
I'm also in my 30s and moved states a few times in my 20s and am still living out of my "home" state. This is all great advice! Especially about living with roommates. I've seen too many friendships end after becoming roommates and mostly due to lack of communication.
@@jennlrichardson So true! at the end I definitely felt you! I moved out 4 years ago now and I stayed in the same area I was raised in however my parents moved states and sold my sister’s and my childhood home in the process. I cried daily about leaving the house that I was raised in and lived in for 20 years of my life. To this day I still get homesick / miss my parents. Since I live in the same area my childhood house is sometimes I drive by to check on it and I still get emotional about it. It’s tough, but it makes you cherish the time with your parents even more ❤❤
I have moved states multiple times in my life, and every single time (no matter how much I want and need the move) I always end up crying for days once I am in the new place. I have always felt so alone because like you said, moving vlogs never show that side of moves. From my experience, both emotions (excitement and grieving your old home and what you left) can exist at the same time and deserve to exist at the same time. You are doing what's best for you in this moment by moving, but that doesn't make the goodbye any less sad. Give yourself the freedom to feel it all.
Destiny you should be so unbelievably proud of yourself!! I'm 23 and TERRIFIED about the idea of moving out let alone moving so far away from family! Like you say we are incredibly lucky to have something so hard to say goodbye to! the last part of this vlog means everything!! I know this doesn't compare, but I just started my first semester of college and I miss my family and friends, even just my HOME so much. its so hard to start something new but I truly agree that its a blessing to have something so hard to say goodbye to. it feels so lonely, but you are doing the best thing for u :)
as a girl who’s also from indiana, finding the courage to move to a completely different state was hard, but it’s definitely worth it!! can’t wait to see this next chapter of you ❤️
I felt the same way when I first moved out of my parents house. I literally waited until the last minute to feel anything to the point where I just broke down when everyone left. Take the next few days for yourself, stick to the parts of your routine that you can and look forward to making new memories! Be proud for being brave enough to put yourself in the position to grow! Congratulations on your move, you got this!!
Girl I cried for you! I felt all the emotions while watching this video. I wish I had your courage. This will be a chapter of your life which you will look back on with a smile. I can’t wait to see where this adventure takes you ❤️
When I was 18 (now 22), I moved from Nevada to Florida on my own. I went on antidepressants and missed my family like crazy. Florida brought me so many great things though! I met my husband, got off my antidepressants, and my parents actually ended up moving here too! Always try and keep yourself busy, but let yourself have the moments of remembering where you came from so you can enjoy where you are now! ❤
This is so exciting for you, but all you emotions are totally valid. I moved to college a year ago and I did the same thing as you and suppressed my feelings building up to the move. Then that first week I was a hot mess. I cried every night for about a week and felt so lonely. Specifically the first night and day alone I couldn’t stop crying, but once you get adjusted and back into a routine it makes everything so much better. I hope you have so much fun at your new place! :)
I love her so much, and I cried along with her in the end when she sad the quote. I´m so proud of her! She is soo brave to move and to do what she wants, I think she is amazing. This video is a end and a new beginning. I wish you the best Destiny💗
I don’t know why I’m so emotional over this. Im SO PROUD of you. You are 21 badass moving out and you are so independent!!! I know you experience a lot of anxiety and I can only imagine what it was like while getting everything situated but I’m so HAPPY for you for accomplishing such a big goal of yours!!! I hope you love Texas. Spread your wings girlie. Cannot wait for videos in the new house as well as a tour!!! ❤ also question, are your BF friends also moving into the house? JW since they were in the video and the house is 4 bedrooms. LOVE YOU
moving from family is hard when you love them so much. i’m moving across the country for the first time in a week from now, too! seeing this made me even more excited. cannot wait for this new chapter for you 💛
I can relate. I just moved out my family home a week ago so that was triggering 😂 I'm OK with not seeing my parents, it's my dog I miss madly. I still have a little cry now and then. You'll love it tho! New place, new area to explore, and you get to see your bf every day! Thats the best part ❤
I also wanted to say, I too live in a different state than my family so I totally relate to the time it takes to process that distance and change. You are so strong and I’m so proud of you ❤
i’m usually just a silent watcher but i also just moved for the first time far away from my parents (well 4/5 hour drive but the uk isn’t as big as the us) literally on the 25th june so almost a week before you! so this is so comforting for me to watch, i watched some moving vlogs but couldn’t really find any in a similar situation or anyone i’ve watched before/could connect to but i already love you and your videos so it feels nice that i almost have someone to experience the same thing with🥹
This is so reassuring to watch, I’m moving out for the first time on Friday and it feels good knowing I’m not the only one that feels completely out of my element!
i live for moving vlogs but i did not expect this from you destiny! i’m so proud of you! it’s scary leaving your family and all that you’ve ever known. Congrats on your move and your new place.
oh girl your making me cry. that last quote- actual tears streaming down my face rn. this is very comforting to watch bc i’m about to be in scotland for 4 months and that’s the furthest i’ve ever been from my family in texas- so thank you for sharing the good and the bad
I haven't checked in in a while because I've been in a slump but then today, I see this title and I just HAD to catch up! I'm so proud of you (and your BF) for taking such a big leap. It's very hard to move outside of your comfort zone but that's how we grow as people. I wish you so much health and happiness as you adjust to your new space and it becomes more like home. Your new house is beautiful!

From a Texan through and through 1. HteaO 2. Chuy’s and Rosa’s 3. You need to try dutch bros rebels and teas 4. One destination for you and Issac should be barton springs 5. The bar and food scene in Austin is phenomenal. The capital is something else too.

as another 21 year old that’s also about to move for the first time, i think i needed this
the last part of this vlog means everything!! I know this doesn't compare, but I just started my first semester of college and I miss my family and friends, even just my HOME so much. its so hard to start something new but I truly agree that its a blessing to have something so hard to say goodbye to. it feels so lonely, but you are doing the best thing for u :)
so excited to see this new era of yours 🫶
as a girl who’s also from indiana, finding the courage to move to a completely different state was hard, but it’s definitely worth it!! can’t wait to see this next chapter of you ❤️
Omg why am I crying seeing this huge change. But I’m so happy for you and proud of you taking this huge leap
The utter shock I had when I saw the video title!! I’m so excited for you!!!
I’m moving from Nevada to Arizona next month!!!
Destiny and Sara in the same day??? We're being spoiled 🎉❤
true
I just said the same thing to myself! What a great Tuesday.
OMG GIRLLL - Haley and Des in the same state!!!🫶
oh girl your making me cry. that last quote- actual tears streaming down my face rn. this is very comforting to watch bc i’m about to be in scotland for 4 months and that’s the furthest i’ve ever been from my family in texas- so thank you for sharing the good and the bad
As a reader this was finally the first plot twist that shocked me this year. So happy for you queen! ❣️
YES SIR (immediately dropping everything I just wanted to do)😎
Like reading? 👀
Welcome to Texas, Destiny! I, too am really close to my parents and not having them around 24/7 is definitely a big change. Love watching your content and happy to have you as a fellow Texan now too ❤
i am so happy for you omg!! and that you get to do this someone you love is even more special. i wish you nothing but hapiness and bless in this new chapter
So proud of you!! Change is big, and something we have to get used to. It's gonna be weird not seeing your og bedroom, but with all good books this chapter has to end for new one to begin. Good luck Destiny ❤️❤️
omgg my jaw absolutely dropped when i saw the title. i cant believe we wont see the iconic background, but i know you guys are gonna have so much fun! i cant wait for future vlogs!
From a Texan through and through
1. HteaO
2. Chuy’s and Rosa’s
3. You need to try dutch bros rebels and teas
4. One destination for you and Issac should be barton springs
5. The bar and food scene in Austin is phenomenal. The capital is something else too.
i hope this is something you wanted des, you seem very sad and it seems sudden :( but i’m excited for this new journey with you, can’t wait for texas content!!
I’ve been watching your videos for like about a year now. And this vlog made me feel like I was watching one of my friends move, it’s definitely a new chapter for you Des. Also I loved your ending quote 🫶🏻
Literally shocked that you moved to Texas!! At least you’ll be closer to Haley now
welcome to Texas! I hope u enjoy it just as much as my family and I do. I’ve been watching your channel for a long time so it’s crazy to see how much you’ve grown but I’m so happy for you. 🩷 excited to see where the vlogs go!
I moved states away from my family as well a few years ago and I had breakdowns about it for a few months leading up to the move, it was so overwhelming. But congratulations! As scary as it can be starting your own life is so fun as well. You’ve definitely got this.
I’m moving halfway across the country for grad school in 2 weeks and this made all of my suppressed emotions hit me like a brick wall - the combination of excitement about starting a new chapter and grieving leaving something behind is unlike any other
Idk if you will see this but Im so proud of you and your boyfriend ♥️ usually when I see you cry is over books but I am proud of how far you’ve come.’
des, i have been watching you since early 2022 and i have loved seeing you and your channel grow into the amazing place it is now and that YOU are now. So happy for you and this new chapter. I cannot wait to see what it brings and hope austin treats you amazing!!
but but... the iconic room!!! I'm so excited for you and your new chapter bestie!!!
omg bestie!! congratulations!! 💛 moving away from home is always difficult, but like you said, taking it one day at the time, and what helps me is always planning little facetimes or having a planned trip to see my family or when they can come and see me, even if it's months away, it just helps :) Sending all the love!
I’m so shocked omg this is such a power move for you. So proud of you sweetheart.
I knew there was a reason I love your videos...there is never a bad time for a good Chicago song! One of my favorites :) hope the move goes smooth and safe!
MY JAW DROPPED! This secret you kept from USSS!! HOWW
Sobbing 😭 this video was very inspiring 💕 I’ve been wanting to move for while and have been scared to do so! Hope this is the best chapter of your life so far 💕
the way my jaw dropped when i woke up and saw your ig story about your new video! i'm so unbelievably proud of you des, this is a brand new chapter for you and you're gonna do such great things 💗
Congrats on the move and new home! Moving out is hard, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy creating a new home and adventures where you are now! Congrats again!
Wait what...WAIT WHAT?! I'm so here for your new era!
Also - I'm so jealous of housing in Texas, anything close to these homes where i live would easily be 5k a month minimum.
Remember that moving and leaving ur family is hard but you can do hard things! We believe in you destiny❤️❤️❤️
OH MY IM SHAKING IN MY SHOES WHAT THE SHIVERY TIMBERS?! SO HAPPY FOR YOU BUT LITERALLY SHOCKED.
Not me crying with you 🥺 I pray that you find so much joy and peace in this new season! We all love you🫶🏼
Also FaceTime will be your best friend! I FaceTime my parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews multiple times a day and it’s like I’m not even gone 😂
Hey Des, beautiful home. I know the feeling of being overwhelmed from living on your own for the first time. It will slowly get better. Thanks So much for sharing ❤
des ill love u anywhere and everywhere 😭
I’m so proud of you 🩷 It’s such a bitter sweet moment moving out of your home with your parents into your own home. Thanks for sharing your life with us! And I do agree, Dasani is foul. It does have salt in it too! If you’re a water drinker, not all water tastes the same!
i was shook when i saw this title! i’m so proud of you and excited for you!!!❤❤❤

A Sara and Des video in one day?! 🙊❤️ I’m sat.
