- Jurors on Monday heard testimony in actor Johnny Depp's defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp sued Heard after she wrote a 2018 op-ed piece in The Washington Post in which she referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse." She never mentioned Depp by name, but Depp's lawyers said it was a clear reference to accusations Heard made in 2016 when she sought a restraining order against him. Heard has filed a countersuit against Depp that accuses his lawyers of defaming her at his direction.

The tone of the voice of Johnny's attorney got really emotional when she asked him the last question. I couldn't help but shed tears.
And what did you say in response when Miss Heard said: "tell the world, Johnny, tell them, Johnny Depp, I, Johnny Depp, a man, I'm a victim too of domestic violence." What a powerful moment right there.

It's heartening to see 99% of the comments here supportive of Johnny. I wish he could read them. In the "me too" age I thought nobody would listen, but everyone is.
She’s a disgrace to “me too” too. She capitalized on the pain of women for whom abuse does happen to sell her lies as believable. She disgustingly disrespected the pain of abused men who suffer just the same, plus suffer being more isolated and more stigma.. She’s really a disgrace to humanity.
Amber Heard disgraced the “Me Too” movement. “Me too” was supposed to given women in Hollywood who had been sexually assaulted a chance to speak up. What Amber did was evil and she capitalized on this movement to ruin a man’s life.
It’s crazy how Amber’s team used snippets of a recorded conversation that paints Jonny as the aggressor. Then his team will play the whole snippet of the same conversation allowing for context and it’s actually amber who is the aggressive one. It really shows that one they don’t really have $h!+ on Jonny and two that her team is just as verbally manipulative as she is.
There is no such thing as justice in the justice system
She pays them for them to do the best they can to win…. Moral or immoral they took the bag and now they gotta do whatever they can. Good news is there’s little to nothing lol I don’t understand the attacks on the justice system (not saying original post did that) what do people want instead? For example the exact same crime made by a woman is punished with a lighter sentence than for men, I repeat the same exact crime. Just because he's a man. I saw many cases of this. Also when divorcing women have more privileges aswell as getting the kids almost always even though they don't deserve them and the father is better.

Ok, can I say Ben King is my favorite part of this trial. He is so well put together. So professional, and he also stated that he took a picture of the sunset. This man is a gem. I’m sure he’s seen some crazy things and even gets treated less than by those he takes care of… and he still stops to appreciate the beauty around him.

For example, he was about to explain why he didn't tell the doctor that his wife was responsible for the fact that he lost his finger. The first doctor bought his excuse. But the second doctor was a hand surgeon. And he immediately realized that Depp's version doesn't fit the wound. That's an important detail, isn't it? But at the request of Heard's lawyers, Depp's testimony was withheld by the judge. Minute 2:49:35. And that's just one example.

I've had girlfriends like that in the past, and they definitely brought out rage in me that I never knew I had. Of course I eventually dumped them, but even the breakup was scary because one of them turned out to be quite crazy. Most of my friends couldn't believe the stories because they see me as a very laidback, calm person. Yes, some people can definitely do that to you (and I know it goes both ways). I love how her lawyer is trying to go after him for his substance abuse issues, which are no secret, and irrelevant to this case. Substance abuse does not equal physical abuser which is the point of the whole defamation lawsuit.

It just seemed like a waste of time trying to prove something that was already known. As a survivor, I rarely had time to grab my phone to record my beatings. My bruises were so bad they could not be covered by any makeup pallet. My abuser did not show up in court to defend himself the way Johnny has. I have a long term restraining order and I carry it with me everywhere I go to protect me and my kids, never once have I tried to reach out to my abuser to get him to come over especially with that order in place and I definitely never crawled into his bed with the order in effect. Amber heard is a disgrace. Her lies will make it difficult for women who have actually been abused to come forward. The amount of evidence against her is insane. I really hope she faces jail time for this.
My abusive relationship was before the ability to record easily because it was before cell phones. Toward the end of the relationship the big giant box “car phones“ were out but still. Nothing that I could’ve used to record. In retrospect it’s probably better that way. I don’t want to remember in any detail more than what I already remember. God bless Johnny Depp. So many of us know how you feel. I hope he wins and I hope she is rightfully destroyed in her career.

In her lawyers opening statements they said they will show us pictures of her abuse from him and we will see hard evidence of the abuse he gave her but nothing not one thing as of yet have we seen any proof that HE abused HER only the abuse she gave to him

It actually makes my heart ache and my stomach sick to watch Johnny have to revisit blow-by-blow, the emotional and physical abuse of his marriage, and the intense gas-lighting he endured. For endless hours on the stand. Weeks of trial yet to go to defend his name. What a world we live in! Learning that he survived abuse as a child, dredging that up for the world to hear about and then being brought back to that dark place of needing to hide from his abuser... not his mother this time but his wife. It's extremely traumatizing. Amber Heard is profoundly sick; her cruelty and intense desire to inflict pain and conflict seems to know no bounds. She's truly insatiable. Hearing how low it brought him, losing himself in drugs and alcohol, offering himself up to be cut or hit to satiate her... he's 100% right, that is not a life.
It's likely a saving grace that he has children... I think his love for them absolutely saved him because he seemed on the brink of surrender to her madness. I hope that this goes in his favor and he is able to recover the peace and healing he so desperately desires and deserves. Nothing but love for Johnny Depp.
