Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

It's ROSE HIP TIME! I am EXCITED!
So you’re first year you mentioned all natural hair masks but I’ve not seen any videos on them. Since rose is supposed to have hair benefits, are you making a hair mask video perhaps soon?? I’d love to see your take on them ❤️
Get froggy. Sometimes, it's just needed.
Agreed. 😂
For a whiter soap...maybe coconut oil or lard and a light olive oil...but that would change your recipe.
Love your approach! I get those, (can I do this like I cook, and don't have the exact ingredient, so I substitute like a different cheese) and the wormhole opens, but in a good way!
I like the half and half approach to combat the color issue. I've been struggling with soaps to compliment my bath teas because I wanted more than just a rose fragrance. This helped tremendously!
Gorgeous bars. I really appreciate your teaching here. Thank you
Love these deep dive, experimenting videos ❤
The soaps with the Rosehip infusions will win - my prediction 😁
I think today’s soap will preform better out of the ones you’ve already made so far. I’m gonna guess and say it will be better than tomorrow’s soap too lol let’s see if I’m right 😂
I don't know how it will work for soap, but rose hips need to see the first frost to get all the nutrients from them to use in tea. I imagine it would be the same to get them into your soap. I came to soap making via Gardening and after I I became an herbalist.
Love this one. Don’t mind the discoloration in it at all. It’s lovely can’t wait for the lather tests
because of you I bought a rose hip plant. its blooming in my laundry room
I love how you are mixing in the excess mica dust on the top!
Love how this turned out! Love the hot pink mica lines too lol 😍
I want one of theses soaps you know I love my rosehip oil 😂
Lol i LOVE that shirt!! 😂😂😂
So much brown. I think I would stay with an oil infusion. Really like the Infusion Buds machine. Have done different floral and garden herbs oil infusion and didn't get the brown discoloration . I love Rose hydrosol and would get the still cranked up to get more hydrosol. Use this for creams and lotions. Now I have really liked making glycerites. I use these with hyaluronic acid to make a bang up serum in creams and lotions. Maybe to get more red hues in these brown soap try some of the lovely rhubarb colorants
Ohhh... thinking adding some raspberry puree for a more red hue.
That’s a fun idea!
Do you need a new wire on your cutter? Seems a little draggy.
Nope it’s good - just need a bumper. It’s on Mr’s list. 😂
The way you do a mica line... brilliant. I was using a stainless steel mesh duster type thing ( mini stainer) that didn't survive my move.
I love your shirt. 😂😂😂
I’m so excited to get my rose hips tomorrow!!!!😬 I absolutely love your shirt!!!!
I fight with people online too 😅
People are so ignorant sometimes. What’s a person to do? They need to learn. 😂
I still have to watch the 2 previous videos!
oof fast fingers, damn!
