Glad to see you got it running. I’ll give you $10 for it lol. I need ignition parts for mine. Might want to avoid the starting fluid unless it also has a lubricating ingredient. That straight ether will burn up your rings.
Fast forward to today my ignition died also. I have 4 of these blowers two with dead ignitions. The parts are like $200 to fix it so they will not be getting fixed..
Cool looking blower! Is the throttle comfortable to use for a long period of time? I saw one for sale at a garage sale but, was concerned about the throttle, that handle looks kind of short, compared to my pb-580t
Jose M. The throttle is ok , but these old blowers don’t blow much air. I pretty Much use it to blow grass clipping off a sidewalk , so it works for that.
Unfortunately, the coil cost about $175. It’s not worth it to do it. I have two of them that the coils blew on. I ended up throwing them in the garbage. It wasn’t worth the investment to fix them..
I just saw an add for one on Marketplace about 50 minutes from our house for $50.00. The add says that it ran good last year when he put it away but can't get it started now. Probably just needs carb cleaned, air filter, fuel filter, just a basic tune up....
@@rw3dog Yes I can see that they're older units but I'm talking to him now, I can probably get it for $30 or $40, they look like commercial machines. To me that still sounds like a good deal for what it is considering it isn't completely wore out. Parts are still available.
You got an excellent deal. This was one of echo most popular blower for many years. Much better made than the ones of today.
Nice find! sounds great!
CT moog thanks

$5.00 is obviously a steal. Well done. I have a PB-9 which, I think, is the predecessor to yours. Damn things are crazy loud IMO.
This is actually an echo pb400 from 1989 and the pb400e came out in 1992
do you have an extra pull start
I just got a free one last night missing the coil and switch

Jeff Stone keep in mind these are very old , don’t pay too much...

Jeff Stone I hope you can get it
Don’t wear yourself out! The fact that it only wants to start with carb cleaner means it needs carb work!
my old boss had one just like that I use to use eventually lost compressed and was discarded
$5 ? You sure the guy you bought it from was the owner? Good vids!
Tolba Szy lol, thanks and yes he was the owner, lol
tough gear .....it sure is.
$5 my ass.
