Omg the new Rubycon sounds so fucking amazing. I wonder if they will release this one in a new album. I am surprised it wasn't released in Recurring Dreams considering that this is a huge classic.
If I remember correctly I had a recorded tape with a TD album from '69. That wasn't electronic music yet, I remember violin, piano, double bass, flute, etc. and it was very hectic music for my early taste. I was around 16 and I love them from that time - during the last 34 years.
So freakin' happy that this music carries on! The deep dive into Rubycon is just what the Dr ordered. Fantastic!! Recent studio stuff is impressive as well. Thank you!

Goosebumps. It hurts a bit that TD now are better than ever before (or at least since 1974-79) without Edgar Froese. And I've heard (and bought) some 95% of their stuff since I first heard 'Phaedra' in 1978...
ok but these guys have a great backround....they studied to become professional musicians... during the 70's there weren't the schools, the instruments, the computers , the technology of today....
@@bugazbeach I think the video is a really good introduction to the band so a discography would be helpful as a first introduction to the music back catalogue
Thorsten Quaeschning restored and then managed to even TRANCE-send (sorry...) the glorious, sublime TD "Virgin years." TQ is the greatest thing to happen to TD since "Sorcerer."- They were blown off the rails with "Cyclone" (I mean, "Rising Runner Missed by Endless Sender?" And VOCALS--I think NOT. REALLY...) until he came along. How PROUD Edgar would be of his protegé!!! Such astounding talent...truly TD-worthy talent--and once more sans the damn "smooth jazz" saxophones and go-go dancers, to boot...(pardon the pun). #TheDreamLivesOn #IhaveATangerineDream
You know what I think about it? It is always appropriate and jazz is no exception, and vocals, and dancing in a good rhythm, when it is appropriate. I'm not sure that the translator will make the correct translation.
Hello Primitive Knot. A familiar feeling - goosebumps that run down your back or arms when you hear your favorite music. It is very good. So you're living the right life.
I hadn't check in with TD for a while, but always read about Edgar, Peter Bauman, Johannes... This is well done! Time to get active with TD again. Been a fan on and off since 1976. I saw the Underwater S 1986 show and also 1988 - both Tower theater Upper Darby Pa ( Philadelphia)
Hoshiko Yamane really has found her voice and she's spectacular. She seems much more comfortable now, and she adds a profound element, to the Tangerine Dream legacy. These guys have the classic Tangerine Dream sound all the way. Just what Edgar Froese wanted. Love it. They have the ball now dribbling down field in a new way. So exciting.
In my opinion, many artists who rely on the synthesizer today lack the sound of other instruments. See how much more interesting TD was when the line-up included drums, guitar, and flute.
@@bugazbeach I don't understand that you say that. The original Tangerine Dream was best in pure synthesizer compositions. They made so many masterpieces without "drums, guitar, and flute". Their mastery of electronics devices, combined with an unsurpassed creativity and artisticity, is what has made TD legendary. So i really don't understand your remark
@@jurjenvanderhoek316 I agree with that, & of course the guitar & violin/viola is put through electronics as well. The whole point was to prove that great music could be produced by electronics. Think it was Bill Currie of Ultravox, another great electronic music group, with VIENNA that pioneered the electric violin/viola.
I could never say enough positives from this quality of music or orchestration. But TD hires the BEST sound and lighting engineers too. Got to see TD in Van Wezel Hall in Sarasota, FL 1988, totally beyond belief.
Tangerine Dream can without a doubt be ranked among the pioneers of electronic music, and Thorsten Quaeschning, in my opinion, is only the leader of the team today and that's it.

Anyone still has the old Video where they changed the Sounds by plugging cables in their age old Synthesizers?
Electronic musik is my soul. Other is jean-michel jarre, vangelis, kitaro and many more. But Edgar and the others in Tangerine dream has given me about 110 souls (recordings) and 2 live (sheepards bush and rocking mars). And Edgar, you where the only "Ones". Hello from sweden and victor
Tangerine Dream forever! Absolutely beautiful! Great to see Tangerine Dream back in action and still playing like in the old days!
thank you, I think it will continue
Great job! Havent seen them since the 70's but this is as good as back then was. Amazing that it has morphed into a new generation of musicians carrying on the tradition.
martin davis Your comment is one of the most positive. Thanks. Complete agreement.
Oh my goodness, how I miss Edgar Froese!! This music stirs a yearning across time and space . . . Thank you Edgar, thank you to Salvadore Dali for telling Edgar to stick to making music! I am sure that the two have had many a good conversation by now.
thank you for your comment
Both Dali and fFroese were great masters
When mama died I take flowers to her every two weeks listening to MOTHERS OF RAIN feeling such a big pain in ME, but it's something I must live with, I love you MOM (E-GCE) and while I listen to this BEAUTIFUL SONG I will remember HOW MUCH I love you and HOW MANY TIMES I will die for you.
This is very personal, I think that now I will say a certain banality, but with all the rest-time heals.
Tangerine Dream will always bring beautiful, beautiful music to us...... ~/~
Yes it is
Here you see again what Edgar means with his composing . Very well done with the proper respect this music needs .
IMHO, unfortunately the genre is losing its position
Puiki muzika, norint mėgautis gera tailandietiška virtuve jaukiame ir skoningai įrengtame restorane! Žinoma, klausykite saikingai ir gerbkite įprastus atstumus
" Second Gravity" was originally titled "Zero Gravity", was composed and played with Jean-Michel Jarre for his album "Electronica". It was the last piece wrote by Edga Froese.
I watched Risky Business on video around 1984-85 and thought, what kind of awesome music is this? Been listening to TD since then.
I think I'm in love with the violinist.
me too!
Wow...a concert of my home country...so sad i missed all concerts in switzerland, spain and also norway...while im in one, they tour in the other, and when i change country, they stop and play where i already left,hahaha...what a bad luck indeed ! I always wanted to see them live, even more now, because they had some really amazing gigs, all friends asking me meanwhile why im missing...well...some years ago i catched an anti-immune syndrome called Morbus Sudeck,i even contacted the Froeses, talked to Jerome if he has any idea if this concerts are prepared for hosting people with imobillities, that need crouches or wheel chairs, but he couldnt help me,the most aren't having such services...so it was simply too dangerous to go at any concert...thats why im so thankful to find concert recordings here as yours...and videos that soothe the pain a little ! Thanks for sharing this on YT,its really breathtaking...i looove it :)
you've already listened on my channel *Verda Suno • Khamisuno*
Yes,amazing concert! In a way I wish I was in Europe to see them again.I seen them years ago on their optical Race tour that came to Canada. They haven't left Europe to come across the pond in decades, wish they would, love to see them again but probably never will.Just have to listen online.
@@InthebeginningGod777 It is easier for artists to move around Europe, but now it is a completely different time frame. The covid19 virus is to blame
@@bugazbeach Hi,thanks for your reply. The virus thing is messing everything up but hopefully we can get back to some version of normal in time.As for TD,I personally love all the new versions of the band that have come along, and a lot of great talent that I never would have heard about in the post Froese/Franke/Baumann years as good as they were. Thanks for posting this amazing concert, such a great selection of songs.Take Care of yourself
and your loved ones. All the best.
@@InthebeginningGod777 It turns out that we are all the same and all walk under God. The virus mercilessly kills, and it is very scary actually.
And be healthy, too. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Yes, I have another question for you: how do you like the new audio
album on my channel from the Czechs? They attribute themselves to the Berlin school.
Haven't listened to any TD in a long time. Found this concert on RUclips and remembered why I fell in love with this band back in the '70s. This brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for sharing this concert.
this happens to me every 5 years :)
Nur wegen Erinnerung
Cudowna muzyka. Uwielbiam Tangerine Dream. THANK YOU.
come visit again, there will be a lot of new music
I saw the Froese , Franke and Baumann set up live at Bristol Colston Hall in near darkness so atmospheric. The year 1974
There is Tangerine Dream in the 1970s, there still was a Tangerine Dream in the first half of the 1980s... And now we finally have a Tangerine Dream again... And Froese chose these three musicians to revitalise a dead corpse... And this IS Tangerine Dream !!!
everyone is happy!
Beautiful composed homage through many episodes of TD's music to the great Edgar Froese ,( Ruhe im Frieden, Edgar)
sometimes I think he's with us

Thank you for the tracks list. As a returning fan of TD from the 70's I'm not familiar with all the middle era tracks.
If I remember correctly I had a recorded tape with a TD album from '69. That wasn't electronic music yet, I remember violin, piano, double bass, flute, etc. and it was very hectic music for my early taste. I was around 16 and I love them from that time - during the last 34 years.
So many pieces from their back catalogue wonderful!
size always matters
Bellissimi brani! Piacevolissimi all'ascolto Grazie!
So freakin' happy that this music carries on! The deep dive into Rubycon is just what the Dr ordered. Fantastic!! Recent studio stuff is impressive as well. Thank you!
thank you for viewing and commenting

Zespół Tangerine Dreem można słuchać latami! I zawsze znaleźć coś nowego! Odkrywczego! Piotr M.

Dzein dobry Piotr . Another Pete
This has been the soundtrack to my lockdown - a pity the Coventry Cathedral gig is off
i have it
i will send it
Alan Parkinson - There is a video on RUclips, so I can't upload it
Love on a Real Train is my favorite TD music. Glad to see they're still reworking and playing it alive!
thank you for your kind comment
I remember getting hooked on the Dream when I heard the soundtrack for "The Keep". -Still part of the ongoing saga all these years later.
Goosebumps. It hurts a bit that TD now are better than ever before (or at least since 1974-79) without Edgar Froese. And I've heard (and bought) some 95% of their stuff since I first heard 'Phaedra' in 1978...
This is normal. Life does not stand still. It's good that the TD changes from your point of view are going for the better.
ok but these guys have a great backround....they studied to become professional musicians... during the 70's there weren't the schools, the instruments, the computers , the technology of today....
I'm pleased to say the first vinyl LP I bought was in 1976 and was from Woolworths on Lord St and it was Rubycon by Tangerine Dream
My first Tangerine Dream - Encore, 2LP - vinyl that I held in my hands was a concert of the TD tour in 1977 on USA
Utterly superb from beginning to end
Hi! Do you think it is necessary to place a discography, or is it only interesting to watch videos?
@@bugazbeach I think the video is a really good introduction to the band so a discography would be helpful as a first introduction to the music back catalogue
Mike Hobson Photography - thank you, I think so too, now only after my strikes disappear
They are still great as before! TD are still playing like in the old days! It is wonderful !
just awesome
Stil. Compozin rtd minus d:tye release.
Simply lost for words...
good music ... you can be silent
No words are long enough to describe the TD ecperience ♥️
Bravo!
56:18 eccezionale...🇮🇹
It is always appropriate and jazz is no exception,
and vocals, and dancing in a good rhythm, when it is appropriate.
I'm not sure that the translator will make the correct translation.
Well, i liked the song 'Rising runner', as a child i listened to it often.
Logos always brings me out in goosebumps. Glorious.
Hello Primitive Knot.
A familiar feeling - goosebumps that run down your back or arms when you hear your favorite music.
It is very good. So you're living the right life.
i love logos too.i was lucky enough to see it performed at the original dominion gig back in the eighies
I love her cool reserve...she's a real asset for the group.
@@andrewjackson246 I remember many more before BC . Darryl Way (Curved Air) PFM . I can't remember very much at mo . I'm floating ......
I could never say enough positives from this quality of music or orchestration. But TD hires the BEST sound and lighting engineers too. Got to see TD in Van Wezel Hall in Sarasota, FL 1988, totally beyond belief.
Another great group viva lsd🤗❤️👌🇪🇸, what a time it was for me back then, good times to old now getting on a bit.
Too old ? Who, you or them ? I'm now clean but at 72 get high on music and good company .
Been listening since I was 13, thank you for keeping TD alive. Thorsten brings so much to the party. Cannot wait for Cambridge Corn Exchange ✌️✌️✌️
Tangerine Dream can without a doubt be ranked among the pioneers of electronic music, and Thorsten Quaeschning, in my opinion, is only the leader of the team today and that's it.
For you older generations, music like this was awesome like listening to tangerine dream, kraftwerk, and other instrumental groups from the psychedelic era. Even groups such as Alan Parsons Project, Moody Blues, and others were so much better than most of today's 'musical' artists.
And it's quite ironic when I hear positive comments from my 13 yr old, when she hears what I'm listening to and she even listens to music you can 'chill out' with
I've solidly listened to TD everyday in one month for the first time after seeing Thorsten play live.
Favourites are all the tracks featured in the Dream Sequence album (75-83) Firestarter Soundtrack, Optical Race album, Le Parc album, Dolphin Dance track and their latest album Raum.
What a great TD formation playing timeless TD music - Rubicon/Ricochet etc. !!!
do you think they play poorly?
@@bugazbeach No, quite the opposite! i love the current staffing.
the sequence from Rubycon to Sorcerer is sublime...a homage to TD's best stuff, and well executed too
Been a huge fan since 1980 when I was 16 and first heard them.
Got to see them live in 1984 at a small venue and will never forget it. Awe inspiring ethereal music.
Thank you for this amazing video
Love TD .have never seen them.TD and JAMES BROWN 2 artists i would have loved ti have seen.Yes! James BROWN! BOTH BEYIND LEGENDARY!...
Wanted to see TD since i first heard them in a clothes shop in Truro 1974 and i was blown away and going to see them March 5th in Manchester . can't wait

Shame on Switzerland!😡
GREAT!!!
Audio quality for digital reproduction is superb! 10/10 👍
Yup, one of the advantages of mostly electronic music, you can actually grab everything out of the gear without worrying about acoustics or noise. You only need mics to capture the audience. Most of TD is instrumental anyway.
The rendition of rubycon part I was superb.
White Eagle one of m TD faves, cutley remastered🤩
This is just fantastic, the best by far, and so so moving, class, smooth, silky,
and a real escape from a sometimes crazy would, the you Tangerine Dream for being a huge part of my life,
and for music to inspire my photo trips to London.
