Thank you so much for these tips! I just bought my wedding dress today and it's huge with a long train 😂 through my excitement I hadn't even considered until afterwards how I would be able to do a first dance in it 🙈 so I've been searching for tips and this has been wonderfully helpful, I will remember to flick it! Thank you xxx
Thanks so much for the tips. This will be my daughter’s 1st dance & with a long dress. I think sliding the feet is our favorite tip. & trains can cause issues if you dance backwards.
So glad to hear the tips are helping your daughter. Reach out to us through any of the links in the description, if your daughter needs any further help with her wedding dance. Here to help!
@@jcdanceco Thanks! She is actually in high school & this will be her first formal dance. It will be choreographed historical dances. Thanks for reaching out! 🥰 I’ll have her check out more of your videos. I’ll also have her practice in a long dress with her brother to get the feel of a long dress as you suggested.
HAHAHA!!! With the fashion these days, it's an important consideration that cannot be overlooked! 😳 Another tip just in case is to make sure you're wearing undergarments that match your pants! 😄 You can never be too careful!
When turning, always walk in a LARGE circle, so as not to get tangled up in the fabric. Also, make sure you are always walking FORWARD, so that you don't back up onto the dress. Hope that helps!!!
Are you afraid of tripping on the front part of the dress? If you keep it floor length or shorter, it shouldn't be a problem. Just dance with good posture, standing tall, without too much knee bend (minimal rise and fall) and everything should be okay.
Sometimes, our students have an elaborate routine in mind, and we try to tell them that these are a little more complicated than RUclips makes it appear. How many lessons, approximately, do you suggest to your students, to plan for attending?
Yes, one of our pet peeves is when couples come to us wanting to learn some extravagant wedding choreography, danced by professionals on RUclips, and think it's going to be easily done in a handful of lessons. 😳 If they are contacting us with less than 6-12 months leading up to their wedding, we tell them straight up that they will not look anything like the video! We can still work with them by simplifying the choreography and by lowering their expectations. However, best is to try and steer them to realize that simple and natural is much better than stressful and awkward. The priority should be to CONNECT and enjoy this special moment together, not to put on a big show. 👍 Here are a couple of videos that we've done on the subject... Sliding the feet, I can guarantee that will be a life savor for me thank you so much!
Yes, most definitely! Keep those feet on the floor to minimize your chance of tripping on the dress. 😊👍
This is the only helpful video I've found on mobilising in a long dress!
Aw, thanks! Glad you found it useful. Send us a picture in your bedsheet and we'll be sure to post it! :)
Thank you for saying Lead and Follow!
