People move around all the time in the country. Their parents parents probably came from the south to California. I been meeting alot of folks from north Carolina lately at work.

My grandma lived in West Adams neighborhood my whole life but always told me stories of Watts, living on Central Avenue-the black Jazz epicenter of LA.. that’s where most black people lived when she got here from Louisiana.. my other grandparents were from Kansas City.. but both parents were born here. I’m only 2nd generation here and I’m 32 💯💯💯

However, I do feel that in some cases this documents a confirming stereotype giving people who don't really know us and have to contact with us ammo to say "see, I told you they live like this..."
