Augusta is the best place to raise a family. They have a hood but the majority of the town is quiet. Like really quiet. The police don’t play either. It’s pretty cheap. 2 hrs to Atlanta, 2.5 to Charlotte, 1 hr to Columbia, 2 hrs to Savannah and Charleston. It’s really a nice secret. Very low cost of living too. Ppl basically live there and hit the road to travel for the weekend.
Those guys @6:30 made a point lots of people are concerned about. SCAD has bought up a considerable portion of the city and it's priced a lot of smaller communities out. Note: SCAD is a $40-50k/year arts school where the dropout rate is often 50% for the freshman class (but the acceptance rate is roughly 80%). Make of that what you will. Also, they were right on about no particular area being more dangerous than any other- block by block it's a different city

I had a position in a previous job back in 2021-2023 where I would travel to other sites in our network to help out with warehouse operations. Loading/unloading trucks and all that shit. I got to visit Georgia twice. First time out in Fairburn and the second was out in McDonough/Locust Grove. Fairburn wasn't too bad, but you had Peach Tree City down the road. I have never been to any ghettos though. lol I would move to McDonough if I could (currently in Cali). Out of all the states I visited, Georgia was my favorite. I met a lot of cool people there.
