Puuurdy stuff you’ve got there! I believe the only mine where White Buffalo (trade name) is found is near Tonopah Nevada. It’s was giving the name White Buffalo by the Otteson family that own the mine. According to the Otteson's it’s mineral makeup is Opalized Calcite & Black or dark brown Chert. Sure is purdy!
Correct, thank you for giving our viewers more of that detail. I love the stone and plan to purchase more of it in the future. I just got a little over a pound of it so far, at a cost of $100 / pound.
True, also look at the host rock in White Buffalo it is black, in Howlite it is grey. This is one way to discern if real or not. Thank you for watching.
I think $100 a pound is a good price. Because one piece of jewelry is going to be more than that so you could get a few pieces of jewelry out of that. Thanks for sharing this video. It’s found in Nevada not Utah. You do beautiful work by the way. I love the big pendant
I'm particularly fond of White Buffalo, which is odd because I'm not fond of turquoise. I have a large cross White Buffalo pendant that was gifted to me. I get sooo many compliments. Do you have a phone number that I can call to speak with someone regarding the price range of the large pendant you showed vs the smaller one? I want more! It's so beautiful.
I'm the same way I've drawn a passion for White Buffalo but nit a fan of turquoise. Got my first white buffalo ring a couple weeks ago. So impressed I have another white buffalo ring coming next couple days.
I have two 6"x6'"x2.5" slabs of highest purity white buffalo. each slab is surrounded by black chert. they are marked V33 and V33. Mined from tonopah nv in first decade of 1900s. Provide your email and I will send you pictures of them. They also have etchings on them two as banker who ownded them used them as bookends. Very interesting and valuable pieces.
The black is chert. The white is created the same way as Turquoise but lacks the iron, zinc and cooper that make Turquoise blue. Thank you for watching. Keep on Rocking
Tonopah, Nevada is where it’s mined by the Otteson Family.

I saw White Buffalo being sold by the Odessans / Royston Mine in Nevada. Would Oil seep into the pores, I am guessing you have a sizeable trim saw.
Soak it in soapy water for a day or two. You can use a water trim saw for cutting shapes. Thank you for watching. Keep on Rocking.

@@DanielMillerlife the rock is full on white buffalo with characteristic chert
White buffalo should not be called turquoise. It’s lacks the copper that in part defines the mineral turquoises.
You are correct. Thanks for watching keep on Rocking.
