I ended up here, after hearing Constance Bennett mention it in the 1935 film I happen to be watching called "After Office Hours" here in my living room in Trenton NJ USA. August 2022
I remember Harpo talking about this song in his autobiography as I believe he substituted for his brother Chico but was exposed because that was the only song he knew how to play! I've always wondered what the song sounded like and thank you for this!
I'm reading that right now and that's why I searched this song 🙂
Thank you so much. I am now saying a short prayer for my pop born, NYC in 1909. He was always(along with is seven sisters) Singing these songs, What wonderful memories I have of great people and great music.
Thank you again
Billy Murray is such a good artist
He has a great singing voice
Yes, but what have they done lately?
Thanks for the compliment. Best of luck in your quest. This is not an easy record to find, I have only come across this one copy in my many travels. Thank you for watching Victrolaman.
I love this song.
One of my favorites.
great song!
Veggietales sings a Christmas version of it and it is hilarious!!!
The first song he learned to play on the piano- one fingered!
Such a wonderful Machine and song, I hope to find either one day for myself haha.
I always wanted to hear this song.!!
Thank you Ragtime, glad you enjoyed it. I have a definite preference for these early classics from the golden age of recorded sound. Just great stuff with clever and entertaining music and lyrics. If you have any suggestions as what you would like to hear, let me know, as I may have the record in inventory.
Anyone else came here from the novel "The Goldseekers" by WR Burnett?
thank you for this :)
If you have "Huckleberry Pie"
A duet by Jones and Murray
That would be great.
I heard this record once before and have never bin able to find a copy of it.
It has bin one of the more elusive records in my search.
If you have a copy of it I would love to hear it.
Thanks : )
Chas & Dave sing a great version of this!
@joshuamyler its an early type of plastic called shelac but they were pressed with ground up slate to wear the needle down and help it fit the groove better, thats why these needles should be used ONCE only
and like pongboy1100 said they will crack or chip easily if knocked and if dropped it will just shatter, or in my case when my dad sits on them
@joshuamyler they were from stuff (back here in the Nederlands it is called bakeliet) it's stuff that's like stone.
If you let one drop from a meter it's done for. So be carfull if you have one!
0:46 gems shoes only the future
I'm here from Bill Elders comic strip "Woman Wonder"...
and how did that somehow bring you Here?
@@victrolaman Bruce Victrolaman Young In the strip the "Woman Wonder" from 1954 Mad Magazine (a parody of Wonder Woman...) is mentally trying to control her glass plane. And in one panel to highlight the difficulty doing this, her head is spinning around a record. The label on the record shows the title "Waltz me around again Willie" I don't know why. Bill Elder filled his work with all kinds of mysterious drawings, some relevant some not. Well mate you did ask...:-) goo.gl/images/pTNJXi
@@starlord2112 You are correct mate, I did ask, and now I know how the two tie in. Woman Wonder and Waltz me around again Willie thanks for the explanation.
Harpo Marx's favorite song!
Exapmo Mapcase sent me.
Harpo Marx brought me here.
