I have just come back to find Nikki has released a new album which I will be paying as soon as it is avaialble. These three songs released already takes are just so classy and eloquent. There is a maturity in these performances, that as much as I liked and still do, Little Secret, was not so evident on. But then Nikki was years younger then. I know she will not mind this comment as she is a fan of his, but there is something Jamie Cullum-esque in these recordings whilst maintaining her own unique interpretation. An authenticity without overstepping the mark. I would guess that this will be the album that Nikki is most proud of. It appears it is going to be an impressive accomplishment and when so called jazz artists are leaving the genre to try and sell more records it is great to see an artist doing the opposite. Four tracks can be currently heard including C'est' Si Bon. The sincerity that Nikki has for the material comes across clearly. The integrity is there in the performances - performances that together and the other tracks which I am familiar with forms my predicition that this is going to be one hell of an awesome record. I wish I could shake her hand and say congratulations but oh well. Instead I will encourage others to purchase it. If you read this Ms Yanovsky, Congratulations from someone not very important.
