In 2023 this set is still fantastic. The only haters are the ones wanting g1 accuracy. Eff that. This is my go to menasor and every figure is a work of art
This set may be dated in some aspects, but after all these years I think it holds up as a definitive example of how Mainline figures should update G1 designs. Updated alt-modes, robot modes that take direct inspiration from the original but improve the proportions and styling and provide a better transformation. Heck, I think this has the best Menasor transformation since it uses the trailer to make the legs, but doesn't depend on it for the entire body.
Totally agree. And did you know this thing is "scramble city"? I stuck with the standard car placements, but because the arm mount is a separate part, any of the cars can be arms. There are too many combiners that are heavy parts-formers and yet fail to be scramble city.
The Golden Age of 3p! Possibly my favorite set from that collecting period. I haven’t played with it in years! I may have to take it out of storage. 😊 Great video! I have to assume this one took quite a bit of time to produce!
It was back when I would set the delivery address to my work address. It started to snow and I sat all day at work waiting for the delivery and then discovered that they had abandoned delivery that day due to the snow. So I went by their distribution center on the way home and collected it.
@@peolesdru The Swindle and Blastoff figures for the energon Bruticus. Before that they did an accessory kit and the city commander parts forming Magnus trailer for Classics Magnus. But those were the first full third party figures ever made. Fans project was the leader before they disappeared
I love the look of this set, but the transformation was one of the most tedious, not fun things I've ever had to slog through. I've kept it in combined mode for a few years now. I refuse to go through that again lol Props to you for making this video. I'm certain it was a tough shoot
I’m curious- has there ever been a Menasor release- third party or not- besides the “Combiner Wars” release that doesn’t use Motormaster’s trailer to pretty much create a skeleton of the combiner’s form?
You might be right - Combiner Wars might be the only one that doesn't. It just makes sense. Fans Toys took the idea to the next level in absurdity by having Motormaster include his trailer somehow.
Much respect. I have this set, and it does not feel good in the hands. Too many sharp angles, tight joints, and brittle-feeling pieces. Impressive to even attempt transforming this set, much less the intricate manipulations of stop-motion.
I only ever had trouble with the yellow car's windscreen. (If you look you will see it's nearly cracked in half.) It can be a challenge to get it all together, but I don't see it as particularly brittle.
@@peolesdru I definitely noticed Drag Strip's windshield, as mine, and a friend of mine's, are also cracked. But there were tabs on bits of the trailer that snapped due to how tightly they were held in place. It's difficult to slide them perfectly vertical out of the holes.
They look interesting, but I think I'll stick with my Transformissions Menasor. Honestly, not a fan of Drag Strip in either form, but the other four are decent in car form. Don't honestly like how hollow Menasor looks, but I guess I don't know how old this set is, so I couldn't tell you how much more advanced mine is compaired.
The thing I most disliked about CW was the joints. You had two options for the combiner: Legs completely straight or legs in a wiiiide A-stance. Joint ratchets should NOT be octagons. Close second was the hilariously tiny feet.

I thought the combiner is called Motorsquad in this toyline.
@@SavePriconneEN Maybe that's the team name?
Intimidator = Menasor
Motorsquad = Stunticons?
Lovely to have modern Camera definition shots of these Figures

Now you have a good way to remember what goes where!
Ha! Indeed!
Amazing work, peolesdru! Love me some combiners.
Man, I miss fansproject. They did some really good stuff. I hope to one day get my hands on their Monstructor.
Could it be I'm missing a 5th combiner in this scale?
My favorite menasor
You drove through a blizzard to collect Motormaster? Dedication, mate. Dedication.

This company made the first third party figure and started it all!!
Really? Which figure?

It's a bit fiddly, but I have no trouble with it once I remember which waist rotations go with which mode.
My favorite IDW stylized Menasor! Magic Square remains the best G1 imho (similar scale, too)

Oooh I can't to see you do Guardia(Defensor) too

It always seemed to me from pictures that the Transformissions set was barely able to stand.
@@peolesdru it stands fairly well for me.
Old Combiner..
這個也是氣車大師的其中一個版本嗎?
我不確定你在說什麼。

It's been a while since I've seen these bots
Very cool video peolesdru
This is what combiner wars should have been. Stylized and fresh but not an ugly piece of garbage

Nice animation, love it. These should have been the Legacy Stunticons imo
