For an automatic, you simply step through all drive gears and reverse, while holding the brake pedal down. That way, the valve body gets fluid where it needs it.
Traffic cone? If you're talking about 1:50, that would be a large square drip-catcher funnel sitting in the bowl of an oil drain pan on wheels. I can see where you'd get the idea it was a cone, though...
this is probably a dumb question, but i have a 2005 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 3.7L v6 and i need to find out if i have a Mercedes transmission or is it Jeep. i was told from a shop Mercedes but i just dont know and i want to put the right fluid and not ruin my tranny. any suggestion's
so my truck had a sun gear break, my warranty didnt cover it so the transmission place fixed it and it costed $1500 is this normal cost? when it first happened the trans guy told me it was a pretty easy fix but but we were waiting for my stupid warranty company to send inspector. trans guy said that they took it apart and would put it back together for $200 if i didnt want it fixed by them, is this normal? also if it was a easy fix and sun gear wasnt that expensive why was total bill $1500? somebody that for that price my trans should have been rebuilt! is this right? someone please help me !!!
That's Chrysler's "limp home" mode, which means that one of the vehicle's powertrain computers have detected a problem that could result in damage if nothing were done to mitigate it. Several things can cause a Chrysler car to go into "limp home" mode, from something innocuous like having a speed sensor fail to far more serious problems like having a catastrophic failure in the engine and/or transmission. Your best bet is to have the vehicle towed to someone with the equipment and expertise to diagnose faults in Chryslers and see what they can find out.

Can you cycle through the gears with the car turned off?

Do you just test drive it???
