8.2kg for the S5, that's bonkers. My aluminium CAAD 10 is sub 7kg with Ultegra 8000 and still on aluminium bars and probably cost me less than the handlebars and bottle cage on the S5. People have more money than sense. For the cost of the full S5 bike I could travel the world and experience a race on every continent on my trusty CAAD 10 and still have change left over for a coffee and sandwich. The world has gone mad!
Dude, who cares? Tour pros have won many stages and the tour itself on the s5, including its use on climbing stages foregoing the much lighter R5. Weight has nothing to do with winning races- power and talent does.
So exactly how much does Soecialized pay you and your company for this top spot? You lead off the Tarmac description by referencing its round tubes shapes. Since when did round tubes become aero? Then you reference the wheels as being a major attributor to being an aero bike . So is the Tarmac still the most aero if you put on 30mm climbing wheels? It might be a well-proven winner but don’t think we are fools for believing this is the most aero bike on the market, it’s just a matter of Specialized having deep pockets to pay for this endorcement.
If you look at the independent wind tunnel testing of the german magazin "Tour": The SL8 in their test method has 209 Watts for 45km/h. Which is slightly better than the SL7 (210 Watts). Other bikes they tested: - Simplon Pride 2: 199W - Storck Aerfast: 201W - Canyon Aeroad: 202W - Cervelo S5: 202W - Cannondale SystemSix: 203W - Factor One: 206W - Scott Foil: 206W - Cube Litening: 207W - Steven Arcalis: 207W - Trek Madone: 207W - Van Rysel RCR: 207W - Pinarello Dogma F: 208W - Sworks Venge: 208W - ... - Colnago V4RS 221W (perhaps the most successful bike in the last year) So not the fastest, but not slow either. But overall they still gave the SL8 the best ever overall score of 1,3 (best being 1,0), because of the stiffnes, weight and compliance. Aero testing is not as scientific as bike brands make you believe though. It all depends on the test method. I would say that all modern aero bikes are more or less the same with a small lead infront of climbing bikes like e.g. the cervelo r5 (around 230W in the Tour wind tunnel).

@@wfsGROM even though it was “refreshed” in 2023 - it looks dated to me. Just my opinion. But I will agree with you that leaving it out of this years list is suspect. Highly suspect
Ill stick with the Supersix 6, mine rockin RED AXS and Himod frame, Reserve deep wheels is way more comfortable and still as speedy than a Tarmac any day.
No Cube Litening Aero? Girmay won the Green Jersey on it, it has the lightest wheelset by a mile, and it‘s affordable. Guess that‘s why it doesn’t show up in your list…
Right, you all know a bicycle is just a machine to travel from A to B slightly comfortable? You actually pretend you have the money to spare to those contraptions? This is just madness. Nobody in their right mind should even consider these machines. And please, find a hard copy of the text of the video and read what is said. It is slogan upon slogan which say zilch.

Let’s see how can we make the public forget that the bikes are now heavier than 10 years ago I know tell them them the bikes are super fast because they’re aero. Pull the other one 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No Bianchi Oltre???? Really??? I own an Oltre Pro and it is fast reslly really fast, handling is superb and more over it climbs also really really fast Looks like Bianchis has not enough money to pay reviewers It is a shame for a fucking rocket
@@angelfranciscomarinolmedil7070 You are right in real life it looks better than on photos, but still the most ugly road bike out there. I agree with the S5, also aweful, but not as bad. The Foil is ok in my opinion (or at least not top 5 worst looking bikes ever).
No giant propel ? great value and great looking bike and the propel was in the tour.
Forgot so many. The Ridley Noah comes to mind, plus the Giant Propel. And my personal favorite, the Felt AR Advanced! 😳👍🚴♀️

Meanwhile my Cervelo S5 weighs 6.51kg 😂😂
What a video to put out in late November in Britain.
Couple of points 1)Bike isn’t fast - that is basically down to the rider. 2) stiff = uncomfortable
Tarmac all day 💪

Haters gonna hate. I dont own one, but the riders in my club with an SL-8 are in love with it - and they owned other bikes on this list.

They just read marketimg hype and.you get what you get.. 🤦🏻
Your best aero bike 2024 was Look Blade.....now it is not even in top 7. What happened in those couple months?
The Blade is rather dated, tbh.
@petersouthernboy6327 bike released before 2024 season is dated?

How did the BMC Teammachine R not make this list? Designed in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies from F1. Not good enough for you? Lol
LoL Enve Melee...really?
How's the enve melee an aero bike?? And the Madonda™ is neither light nor aero haha.
No Bianchi Oltre RC either. Maybe it’d scare younger viewers.
I have a Felt AR Aero, would love to see a review of if.
Ridiculous money. How anyone can justify spending this kind of money on a bike is crazy.
No Orbea Orca Aero?? 😞
I own one ıts amazing
Its aero just from the name. Pretty trash in tests😊
We're all getting brainwashed ya'll, there is absolutely Nothing wrong with whatever I am riding now (Cervelo P5X) or whatever You are riding too 👍🏻
The speed sniffer helps to contribute to an increase in stiffness to weight ratio?

Btw, I got mine down to 7.2kg with an Ultegra on it. So it’s not heavy either.
The melee really does just look like an sl7 doesn’t it
If an SL-7 had 35mm tire clearance and a UDH hangar.
A slower sl7 😂

basically just reading from brochures. Nothing more, nothing less
No Giant propel why?
Enve Melee is an aero bike ? And where is Giant Propel ?
No Lapierre Aircode DRS? 😢😢

For its aweful looks alone it shouldn't be on any good list. One of the most ugly bikes out there.
@ just as awful as the Scott Foil or S5
I guess you’ve seen it in real life have you??
Cause pictures and videos doesn’t do her any justice period

Evo 3 wheels are a joke. All bike manufacturers put on Showroom wheels only for test drive 🚗.
Well, that's on the goofy reviewers for trying the lowest tier Evo against bikes twice its price.
Since enve melee is an aero bike LMAO
