Amir is not the same that he was in 2010. For a fast bowler, losing 5 years at peak of his youth effectively means the end. There was no reason for a player to not be forgotten after commiting a crime like that and serve a long ban. Amir has been indeed very lucky to be playing for Pakistan again.

So I think his punishment was justified as he lost 5 years of his game what could be used to prove himself to the world. But now altruistic beliefs say everyone should be given a second chance and so has he been given.
Now who thinks that Sreeshant should also be given a second chance, just think that Amir was a left-hand pacer who is always in demand, Pakistan needed him and India did not need Sreeshant, they already had better players by then and again he was not that great. Amir was supposed to be in the leagues of great at least every commentator said so. So there is no reason to compare both of them as the remaining conditions are not the same.
