I think this is a good set
I think it could use more weathering, its awkward how the Dais is very detailed, but the walls are all blank.
Im gonna wait until the Jabba Dais comes out to pick this up. Cause bib definitely ate jabba.

My Bib came exactly like yours, but I am an open collector, so not an issue for me but I feel for all the other carded collectors.

I absolutely LOVE the display man! I use the old power of the force cardboard palace. I’ve filled it with the tvc rotj 2019 Boba Fett, tvc skiff guard three pack, power of the force weequay, Greedo, Ponda Baba, and the funko Pop 40th anniversary Jabba the Hutt as a place holder for when I get an actual Jabba figure. He still works well honestly. Then I have an old battle droid three pack that came with a battle droid, super battle droid and Droideka. Last but not least I use the awful Han Solo that came with the palace. That’s all in my display currently.

I've been a *hardcore* Jabba fan since '83 when 3 y/o me got the Kenner Jabba. Still got a pic of me on Christmas with my Jabba Play-Doh set. I got like all but a couple of his denizens (for some dumb reason), the 3D cardboard playset, the walmart Jabba trone set, the Han in Carbonite wall dio, and both Skiff versions.
I'm all over the place with what I collect, so it was just too damn pricey to pick this up. I see that I can pick it up on eBay without fat Bib (which I could care less about) for about $220 total...cheapest price I've seen. Man, I'm lookin' at your setup and so conflicted with picking this up or not. A hundred would be reasonable (w/the opened set minus Bib), but this whole thing would've been priced right at $150 retail.
Nice!!! Jabba's Palace has always been a huge creative outlet for action figures and collecting. Just so many weird aliens, it's the best!! And yeah, it seems like there will be a few sets on the secondary market for an ok price, just without the carded Fat Bib. Which is a nice second opportunity for some fans. ✨🤘😁🤘✨
Been waiting to see how you would set this up and it didn't disappoint. Looks like a really good set that does provide a lot to justify the price and really the only issue was the timing in how long it took for some people to get it.
But regardless you've got a fun setup here and I look forward to seeing more different scenarios set up. Because he's been around for a long time this doesn't have to just be Return of the Jedi inspired and really you could have characters from any time be here before Luke and company set up whether it's around the Phantom Menace, the Clone Wars or during the rise of the Empire in the comics.
The potential for world building is endless and it's why these scenes are some of my favourite ones you and other people create. I have the Tales of Jabba's Palace book and that's one of my favourites.
I do think they should put other Hutts into the line because really we only have Jabba and Rotta from the Clone Wars and there are so many others it'd be cool to see figures of. A Ziro or Hutt Twins would be cool or if they wanted to go really weird and obscure have Ziro's mom. She made it into Lego Star Wars the Skywalker saga of all things why not a figure line?
What do you think Bib could be reutilised for? A lot of people are saying his legs could be used for a new Malakili maybe the torso could too. I think he could be used for the more bigger Officer types like Commandant Jayhold and Mosk from Andor. I also think if they wanted to go back to the Clone Wars maybe General Lok Durd but I'm doubtful about that one. They've made the new mould they'll have to use it for something you would think.
Anyway I think that's it for now but knowing me I've forgotten some stuff. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks man!! Yeah, I kinda had an idea of what I wanted to do, but needed to have this in hand to make it happen. I'm definitely happy with how it's currently set up with the given space. I might add a couple back walls with large grates so the light still comes through.
Ziro and the Hutt Twins would be super cool and probably pretty easy, they could use all of Jabba minus the head. As for Bib, I am almost certain those legs could be used for Malakili. They look the part and it would be an easy re tool for another Original 96 figure. I definitely have to give Hasbro some credit, they are getting much better about investing in NEW tooling that can be leveraged for several characters. ✨✨🤘😁🤘✨✨

You might want to take a second look at the Fett on the box. It's definitely the Tatooine version. The Morak version's legs and boots are completely different.

17:06 Is that little green rug accurate to the movie? Everything's so damn dimly lit, it's virtually impossible to detect a lot of the detailing.
So if I go through with getting this set, I might just do something like you did with merging the two dios together. So I know you used a lot of foam board, I'm just wondering how you made the steps. Like you stacked layers of the foam board on top of each other to get the right height, glued all that together, then took a fine-toothed saw (or some kind of x-acto blade) to cut a big rectangular chunk out, then laid it down a thin rectangular piece at the bottom, then just continued to lay thin pieces down (each less wide than the previous) to make it look like steps?
And then when everything is said and done, spray paint the hell out of it with some gritty lookin' tan flavoured spray paint....which I guess would be labeled "sand" lol. I've never built a dio, but have a little experience with making stuff and spray painting, but have never worked with foam board. So any info you can give me on exactly how you made it would be awesome. I know I'm overwhelming ya, so even if you don't get to any of this, I'm still appreciative of this awesome video.
Nope, just something I added for a little more texture and decoration. Nice! It's a fun project and I hope it turns out well for you, I have a few diorama tutorials that have a number of techniques that apply to a similar build. The steps are just thin foam board indeed, but I cut out the entire space for them from the larger foam piece, and the slid them in once constructed. I of course then use spackle to smooth everything out. Although these days I prefer grout, which I use much more often in my later tutorials.

I am looking to do a staircase for my Throne Room area like you have (underneath the carbonite section. How did you do yours?
Nice!! Mine was made out of some XPS foam for the main base, and then 1/4 inch foam for the stairs themselves. All of which is later plastered, and painted with a mixture of paints with mod podge to seal it. ✨🤘😁🤘✨
What are the led lights you have on top of the throne room attached to the bottom of the shelf?
Some simple puck lights for cabinets, you can snag them off of Amazon for pretty cheap 😎🤘
I think that jabba you have might be better than the one being released
I've always liked this Jabba release, and unlike some I haven't had any issues with the plastic degrading/melting. I am looking forward to that new Jabba set and will certainly compare the two! ✨✌️😎✌️✨

Hey, sorry with spamming the comment section lol. You're the first reviewer I've seen to use that walmart exclusive Jabba; everyone uses the later version. So do you prefer this one over that newer mold? It's a bit more squat than they should be, but I think it overall looks more like Jabba. Only downside is that squishy plastic has become very sticky with time. Not sure what the best thing to use with trying to make it a little less sticky; rubbing alcohol maybe? Or perhaps nothing can fix it cause it's just the plastic breaking down.
No worries!! Comments are always welcomed! I am just waiting for my pre order of the latest TVC Jabba (which will be the same as the Sail Barge version) to ship and arrive. The Walmart release is the only one I have, so he's just filling the spot for the moment.
I've heard that the Walmart release has those issues over time from a number of people, but somehow mine has never shown any signs of degradation. I do think cleaning it regularly could help? It may have something to do with the plastic/batch of resin that was used in a certain production run back when Hasbro made this figure.

I was clearly having a moment with not thinking, then realized I just needed dishwashing detergent, and that got rid of all the stickiness.
Just locked my pre-order in for that upcoming Jabba. Man, it looks _soooo_ much better than the previous two releases. The movie accurate eye paint/decals (however it's done) makes a world of difference. And nice to see we're getting a new (scaled down 6" scale) Salacious too. Between all that and a movie accurate hookah pipe and hose, the only thing that doesn't look great are those totally flat looking pillows. No big deal, still a really awesome set that can't come any quicker.
@@Chalor. yeah man I’m definitely excited for this Jabba, it’s going to really complete these throne rooms. Plus we are getting 8D8 finally. His lack of elbows is a bummer, but I’m still excited to see him in this set.

It's displayed within an Ikea 3x3 shelf, modified with the dividers removed ✨✌️😃✌️✨
How did you customise your jabba to look the way he does it looks really good
It's actually just the factory version of the figure, no customizing whatsoever! The only thing I did was add the chain to Oola, and a brown soft goods "animal hide" to my original dais ✌️😎✌️

What are you going to do with this old 2010 Jabba once you get the new TVC one?
I'm not sure yet haha. I'll likely keep it, and maybe customize it to be a different Hutt? I'm really looking forward to the new one, as I was setting up the Throne Room for photos recently 👌😁
@@ToysAreTheWay Good idea! I would probably customize him as one of the twin Hutts from the TBOBF, since it doesn’t seem likely that Hasbro will ever give us those.
Lookin' at my favourite Jabba character (Amanaman), boy it'd be awesome to get a new more articulated version. Or even if it's a straight up reissue, plop it on a retro style card back. I just want a version with a staff that actually holds its form, unlike the wet noodle mode it's always in. But being hasbro, it'd probably be even more gummy if released now.
And wouldn't be amazing if we got a new Max Rebo band set...just like the OG, as a 3-pack. And this time, get Max's _entire_ organ (so including the big ass speaker), and some damn mic stands. Something you had to get custom, or buy the originals from 40 years ago....cause that made a lot of sense when they didn't include those accessories with the ones from the '90s 🤦🏼♂️.
There is a really nice Legacy Comic Pack version of his alien species, that works as a really good stand in. It's a way better figure, just slightly different paint apps, accessories, and it's taller. I have two of them for my spaceport diorama display.

Yeah, it is a really nice looking figure that I got when it came out. Even though it has the little sculpted wraps, the feet are totally different, and the really long tail; it can still kinda be a stand-in. It's like a more polished version of what an Amani _should_ look like.

Yeah, just one for now. I've been hoping Hasbro would release more Jawas but with the Tatooine color soft goods for me to add to my displays. I will probably just add another of these and give him the fan like we saw in ROTJ. ✨👌😃✌️✨
