- This Is a Generic Millennial Ad, created with And/Or studio, shows how easy it is to appeal to anyone born between 1980 and 2000. The good news? Thanks to social media, it's easy to connect with this influential audience. The bad news? They hate spending money on things. (Except for maybe avocados.)

Everyone's missing the point of this video. it's not about making fun of millenials, it's making fun of corporate pandering to millenials and out-of touch corporations desperately trying to act relevant and relatable with no understanding of the *real* issues this generation cares about.
Pepsi: Join the Revolution.
Oooh a soda company trying to be "inspirational". Just what their target audience wants to see, lmao.
AMD: Join The Radeon Rebellion. lol
Lol
Pretty much
Pepsi: Hang a CEO.
People think Millennials all make enough money to live on the coast and have enough free time to play with sparklers all day.
That was actually a really good ad for stock footage lmao
I'm sorry but this ad is 3 minutes long. As a millennial I could've done all kinds of things in that time. Like make a tweet, or post a tumblr, or inst a gram.
helloitismetomato jajaja.
I guess a millennial doesn't have the attention span for a 3 minute video.
helloitismetomato im sure you did it anyway. Back to work for me, then work on my home buisness. Sleep 6 hours workout at 3 am do it all over again.
hello well as a millennial you skip 10 sec each or 2x speed duh
helloitismetomato i only spent 1.54 mins with sec
No you got it all wrong they're supposed to all be dead inside
Nah man that's gen z
This is correct, ur statment.
Aint that gen z
That’s Generation Z
That's gen z.
generation z can't relate
As a millennial, I felt sufficiently *engaged* throughout this *immersive experience,* and my day has been successfully *disrupted.* Good *leveraging* of *digital!*
the guy playing guitar wearing VR goggles hahaha
Haha yes
Although I was disappointed it wasn’t a ukulele.
that me
Probably trying to serenade someone on VRChat
so relatable #relatable
You are completely unique. *Just like everyone else.*
Shit... I mindlessly thought I was watching a pre video ad and just zoned out waiting for it to end. That's how good this was.
_"That's why we made our 100% plastic products 10% smaller that one time"._
Pandering to younger generations has never been easier! Thanks guys!
Your comment can't be more perfect than this
I'm a millennial and I'll buy 20 of whatever you're selling after such a well thought out and emotionally provoking ad
You guys really get me #relatable
millenials in the eyes of other generations: cool hyperactive egocentric people, selfies on instagaram
most of the millenials i've actually met: depressed geek people who scroll memes 24/7 to avoid suicidal thoughts
I hate this so much. It's perfect and accurate but I HATE IT. Good job.
Sleepydoof same over here. I almost find it personally insulting. I know i shouldn't, but... Duuuuuudes!
The joke is that it's not accurate and just pandering to a stereotype.
Like pandering to the elderly with a fuckload of racism lol. Crazy.
eat the rich
EAT THE RICH
Voregeoisie
vore
Not sure if I can Buffett on the rich
But are they gluten free? Vegetarian? Free range?
Great! Everyone in the video is so happy and good looking. Everyone is smiling, having fun with friends, playing with their phones, dancing. These are the the true "millennials". I am a millennial myself and hope that one day I get to be this happy and perfect.
What am I saying - It's too late. I am 28, balding and 30 lbs overweight (according to BMI). No stock footage company is going to have a video of someone like me working 9 hrs a day and worrying about my depleting bank account.
icinemaker I'm right there with you, except I'm 7 years older. Thanks Obama.
Google: "stock footage balding overweight man" I think you have a great modeling career ahead.
Maybe you should put your phone down and work
This hit me like a freight train.
Your absolutely right
But if you're on a beautiful boat on a beautiful sea near a beautiful part of the world
why in the 9 circles of hell would you be wearing VR goggles.
The sad thing is that this is actually promo for companies actually trying to sell us shit. It's the worst kind of cynical irony. The one that doesn't want to challenge anything but is just there to be in their words "totes relatable". It's cynical in such an unsettling way because it says: We know that you know how we are trying to manipulate you, but we're different we're self-aware so just help us do that shit. And people are eating that shit up. It's as if they are giving you the middlefinger and you just smile back at them.
Loved the sarcastic tone, loved the ingrained message, loved the video and was completely blown away to learn that it was all made using stock footage! You guys are brilliant like that. #BLT
Oh for the love of god.. are we about to have meta-ads now?
THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME
I turned away and I forgot what I was watching
Thought it was an actual ad
This is the best, most self aware advertisement I've ever seen for a company I will never use.
So a little update on millennial jargon:
"Easy" has been changed to "Simpy"
"-izzle" is back but only in relation to discontinued cereal,
And instead of saying high fiving, we just swap shoes with the other person.
Do they also still use the word "Sick", for describing "Cool" things? Such as: They got their car going so fast, and they hit this bump, to get air, so, that's "Sick", isn't it?
chris: thanks for the update. I am totally doing all those things so that the young folks will know that I am totally down with them.
Oh that should be simpy to remember
Chris Portie nice
Omg this hurts.
This fucking hurts my soul
Oh god.. That Smoothie Corp emoji.. Super wrong..
Detteermiig what the he'll is a smoothie corp
Are you triggered?
Whoever made this ad is honestly in the right career. This is impressive
🍆🍆🍆🍆
🍆 💦😭👌
I like that it indirectly makes fun of Boomers too. :)
Christopher Dombrowski right?! " thats something you say right? Right? Wait wait where are you going?" It shows how they "hate us" but also need our help and business to stay afloat.... But they don't know us.... Boomers just ASSUME too much
but it IS making fun of boomers. That's the whole point.
Christopher Dombrowski , Boomers should be mocked and even flogged publicly.... and often... Mad love for the Greatest Generation though always 🇺🇸 Thank you Papaw!
Boomers and millennials are similar with all that peace, love, kumbaya stuff. Gen X'ers (the middle generation), sits back, rolls eye, and in typical jaded rebellious attitude thinks: you people are out of your mind!!
This pokes fun at those involved in the most subtle of ways: so close to crossing lines and then not really, and *still* being able to be funny.
Who TF says totes.
"Join the conversation" just means post your opinion, pretend it matters
As a millennial this is so spot on that i fear for our future
Unicef It's ok we don't have a future.
Unicef how is it spot on
Generation Z are all dead inside.
Future? We have no future..
I don't know if it's brilliant or scary the fact that what I thought was just a funny video turned out to be an advertisement for stock footage
I've been searching for this my entire life!
skystarsystem only in my dreams LOL
you've been searching for *it* your entire life!
Great video, makeover voice is just perfect
Alot of people don’t get the joke. its not to make fun of millennials its to make fun of cheap advertisers and brands that try way too hard to try to ‘connect’ with the current generation
Number 15, Generic Millennial Ad.
I'm a millennial, and I approve this message.
#lol
Zachery Clark u would
Zachery Clark you're one of the good ones LOL. I'm 60 years old and I wish I could share this country and the experiences I had growing up in it when it was still partially alive, with you. Interestingly enough, I've talked to a few millennials who know that they were screwed over by the biggest abuser of children in the country, the American public school system. Of course, these were people who had jobs. I wish you the best of luck and hang in there. You're probably intelligent hard-working and one of the few people left to know that rap has nothing to do with music.
This video gets us ;). I mean I don't use non dictionary acronyms in real life. But whatever works.
Most people hate Millennials. Makes me sad as one of the few normal, responsible Millennials out there.
Man, I am so sick of footage of young 20-somethings on yachts, partying in tropical paradises, raves, music festivals, exotic landscapes, oceanic Mediterranean villages, and all this shit that 90% of us don't actually do.
I want to see footage of young people laughing over a few beers in a bar, or conversing in a student lounge, or having a serious in-depth conversation at a coffee shop, or maybe even just hanging out in someone's living room playing cards or Xbox or something.
I'd find that way more genuine and attractive, because ALL of us know what that's like. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm doing fairly well with my life at 27, with a successful career and keeping my finances under control, and my life is NOTHING like what they show in advertisements like this.
"Created entirely with stock footage"
10/10
As an Xennial, everything in this ad makes me glad I wasn't born a couple of years later.
"Are you swiping left on us?" Oh my gosh! Haha!
Who would use a VR on a boat with such a view...
My fellow humans
2:33 What's he doing in there? He's Gen X.
Shamaninja Honorary millennial
More like a Boomer
So real I almost had the urge to skip ad. Bravo.
as a milenial this ad succesfully gave the exact dosis of dopamine i needed to keep up with my day, good work! :)
Thank you! We hope you're day continues to be great!
They seem to hate spending money on things because they don't have as much disposable income as their parents and grandparents did. You know, when their countries were good.
This is a great way to advertise your stock footage
11/10. would make fun of millenials again.
Helpertin It's not really laughing at millennials so much as lazy advertisers though.
The video was about making fun of companies trying to cater and seem relatable to millennials?
it's more like making fun of boomers who want to sell things to millennials
Making fun of people that are from the 90s and do not do many of this things, just because they fall under the category of millenials?
This is making fun of marketers...
This is so accurate, its frightening!
Feels great being unique just like everyone else
I grinned the entire time. This really does need more views. Kudos, Dissolve. Very well done.
Well, this advert certainly gets the Bill Hicks seal of approval.
Its just a ride
There's definitely a streak of laziness in some areas of the advertising industry these days. Possibly always. This parody summarises pretty much everything wrong with lazy modern advertising.
I feel like I've heard this exact ad so many times...and yet it's new
Honestly, I instinctively tuned out as soon as the ad started. I've just been conditioned to completely ignore these things, and this video hit the nail on the head!
Advertising done right. #brb
uhm, what friends ?
This is the best ad for stock video stuff ever. Good job.
Can we take a minute to admire the art and hard work of he stock footage produced for this clip? Amazing asf!!!
Nice meme
Whoever made this ad must have hated millennials so much. And I love it. :D
You got me to watch an ad... Well done.
The happy, genre-less stock music is an excellent touch.
Half the people in this aren't even millenials. That's some accuracy for "generic millenial ad" tbh
Y'all went in!
Wait. You made an ad parodying millennial ads to get millennials to spend money using your platform???
That's edgy. I like it.
ok, this had me amused, you have a new subscriber, lulz.
1:05 "Peace parties on the street"
omg for the first like two seconds I thought it was an ad playing first
It . Just . Keeps . Going
I was doing work and set youtube on background autoplay for music when an ad came up pretty much EXACTLY mirroring this. I thought youtube had autoplayed into my previously liked videos or something but, oh no! It's a genuine ad from ACER LAPTOPS.
"How do you do, fellow millennials?"
0:48 I KNOW THAT PLACE, IT'S IN CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA (on a mountain called "lions head") I live there and I see that mountain every day, it's right next to"Table Mountain".
"and thats why we made our 100% plastic products 10% smaller that one time"
I nearly spat out my drink.
This is so spot on that I like, literally can’t even
Not all millennials are like that. Just 95% of us.
Zachary Sedlar r/lewronggeneration
The middle (95%) part of the Gaussian Distribution
Cause the rest of the millenials love the confederate flag? Lmao
Zachary Sedlar true I can tell by your profile picture your a true American
Zachary Sedlar The other 5% are still taking notes I pressume
*made entirely on stock footage*
woAH
The first three seconds I was waiting for the skip ad before I realized what I was watching
reminds me of the "splode" soda commercials great stuff
Dis totes cool for realz my lovelies. lol
where the depression and anxiety tho
I thought the opening was a skippable ad and rolled my eyes. I actually really liked that.
this needs more views
Based on this, if I were an alien, I'd think that Earth is heaven. HEAVEN!
Advertizers and market researchers are doing this with gen z now..... With absolutely no difference....
This reminds me of that video they play before the plane taking off
I was not paying attention for a minute and for a minute i thought i was just hearing an ad in the background
I was about to say I can’t relate... I still can’t but THIS. IS. EXACTLY what it looks like to me! I’m glad others see this as well... at least this observation was relatable. I hope it’s secondary purpose was also trying to point out that NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE RELATABLE TO BE MEANINGFUL! Ok adiós :)
SCARY!
Ioan Ştefan Botiş no more parties in LA
How is this scary...
That's some good stuff right there, Imma sub
This ad is materializing in my living room
Absolutely amazing commercial, one of my absolute favourites!
Thank you, Reggie Watts for bringing me here.
This is the best use of satire in an ad of the entirety of the 21rst century so far.
That's worth downloading and keeping, for future reference. Thanks for the ammo.
I've seen this video before; it was the intro Forza Motorsport 3. :)
Wow where can i get this product?
I think this is the best ad i've ever seen
i love that it has a voice you'd find in a bright side video
