I know a writer who self published two novels without marketing plan and no knowledge of social media. I would like to launch 3rd novel correctly then relaunch the other two. The challenge is finding skilled copy editors. I enjoyed your video it has let realize what I do not know. I a great student and want to learn more. Thanks Michelle
Thank you that was extremely helpful! I am three weeks away from launching and I need all the help I can get. It took me over a year to write the book. And I don’t even remember how long it took to edit it, to find a designer for the cover and everything in between. It really is a process very similar to my doctoral dissertation. The only thing missing was conducting research with human beings. My hat goes off to any human that writes a book. Especially a book of substance.❤️

I bought this book over 3 years ago! It didn't exactly fit my niche of children's books and indie comics, but it was very inspiring still! This seems like a great book for self-help books and similar, BUT if you write anything that needs lots of cited sources and custom imagery it will take a bit longer than the book suggests.

Hello Chandler Bolt, going through the pre-launch checklist you provided and seeing amongst it "a need to open a Goodreads account." Is it possible to publish one's book on Goodreads having selected the KDP on Amazon? I was told that you can't publish your book anywhere else once that option is selected. What's your take on this?
Hi, I'm publishing an activity book, so I won't be able to give away hard copies to my launch team/for prelaunch (for reviews) etc like a standard book, where you can give a digital version. Do you have ideas as to what I can do instead? I haven't ben able to find any info on book launches for activities, to find out what others do. Thanks

I tried to change the price of my e-book to .99 cents but it would not let me. It says the minimum price is 2.99? Did that change since you posted this video? How do I change it to .99 cents?
99c launch price is an absolute insult. We tip more at a coffee shop. The industry as a whole needs to decide the value of months and in some cases years of creative writing is worth 99c. Disgusting. 9.99, 14.99, 19.99, 24.99, 39.99, 49.99. These are worthy prices.
The $.99 launch and book price is not forever. It's to trigger the Amazon algorithm to make your book visible and get initial downloads so your book is ranked higher, and then you can price it appropriately at a time when more eyeballs can see it in order to increase the amount of buyers :)
Self publishing these days is a dead end. It is just too hard to market a book in a very crowded market. Most authors are not good marketers. It is a very tough skill to master. I gave up on the whole thing. It just wasnt worth it.
@@Batman-jc5uc I know it's been years, but if you liked to write, you shouldn't give up on it. It's a very tenacious, demanding thing but if you did write before, then you should continue. You don't have to if you don't want to, but self publishing is not a complete dead end. As long as you get something out there and someone reads it, then you accomplished what you wanted to do. If you go the traditional route, then I wish you luck as well!

Batman 429: I think in my case,.it will work. Eye catching cover art, an attractive, photo and an element of mystery is what I'm banking on.

That means your file size is too big and needs changed

Why would you go further into debt, giving away something, if you haven't made your millions.
