- In this Pokemon cards opening, I put the two newest Pokemon card sets head-to-head to see which will give us the best pulls. Which set will be the winner of the booster box battle, Scarlet & Violet Base, or Paldea Evolved?!

I'm 34. Have been collecting since I was a kid. It's all about budgeting. I suggest you set aside money and choose carefully which cards you want. You can't collect them all unless you have a lot of resources.

I know some people who just don’t like s&v but so far I really like it. I like the alt art trainers a lot and the hit rates in boosters were nice for me so far.
I've only opened three Paldea Evolved booster packs so far but with the base set, I managed to get a secret art rare and the Miriam full art alternate secret rare in about seven packs somehow. In general though there are so many awesome illustrations in both sets. They've definitely done a great job so far!
The pull rates in this era are great so far! The artworks also keep getting more insane every set. Very excited to see what Obsidian Flames will bring us.
That is similar to what I was going to say. When Obsidian Flames releases on August 11, you should do another comparison to the other sets of Scarlet and Violet!

Glad I'm getting the obsidian flames booster box when it comes up hopefully get good pulls! Apparently there as a gold charizard and I'm collecting charizard so it's perfect for my collection 🎉

Awesome video! Didn’t know you could get so many hits in a box from this set! Really makes me realise I got so unlucky with my hits, 4 and 7 in the 2 boxes I bought 😢
I love the artwork that S&V has brung to the table so far.. can’t wait to see these next few sets!!
I like the new sets it makes it easier to complete them but at the same time it also drives the prices down on the harder to get cards since they are technically a lot easier to get compared to pre-scarlet and violet

@@Caleonn I don't really know. If cards lower down their price in the singles market that can be a good thing both for players AND collectors, but the pricetag of the product is the same and the pullrates don't seem to have changed much from latest SWSH sets (Lost Origin, Astral Radiance, Brilliant Stars, Crown Zenith...) from what I have experienced. So, either we get way more hits per box or they lower the prices accordingly. Just my humble take as a collector.
@@Caleonn If the prices of the booster boxes stay the same then its not a good thing.
Not a bad thing, especially for people like me who want to build decks without paying a fortune
@@wilcob643 That was my point, if the price of booster boxes and spare packs stays the same and the pull rates don't increase a lot, then it may become a substantial problem.
Can certainly appreciate how they manage to continually come up with such stunning artworks for the illustration rares.
Honestly I feel like their pull rates are similar, too. Small sample size here, but would love to see another one with pull rates of multiple like products from both sets (tins, blisters, promo boxes, etbs, etc) 15:57
No one was expecting that Scarlet and Violet base set and Paldea Evolved would have the same Pulls in terms of number as well as card types
It is odd how low the illustration rares are in boxes, to me. I'd rather have more of those than ex cards. Great comparison!

No they're virtually the same pull rates except paldea evolved is a much bigger set. Appreciate you clearing this up ! Super hyped for Paldea Evolved
i dont know how but i have opened over 20 packs in pal evolved and i have pulled 4 things (gold card, ex, illustration rare, and another illustration rare)

Agreed!! The gambler in me loves the randomness. If we know exactly what to expect “last pack magic” will disappear completely

The pull rates are great lately! Way better than early swsh! It’s a good thing for collectors that you get set pulls in each box instead of opening a swsh/sm box and getting nothing. Cards aren’t as hard to pull now and that’s better for collectors

I love seeing these battles. I don't even think newer sets could battle older sets because older stuff was way harder to get pulls.
Man I’m jealous of that first box- my own box only had a gold electric energy, and no SIR. The gold Koraidon is my current main chase card!
SV era pull rates are insane, its a good set to go for master sets. Congrats on your pulls
The pull rates are pretty good but the sets themselves are huge lmao. Master sets might be tricky to complete.
I just love the artworks on the new illustration rares in Paladea Evolved
I haven’t open a lot of paldea evolved but I like both I stared to build a scarlet and violet binder and it was harder then I thought ! I like the scarlet and violet park art with the starters on the front is soo cool ! But I think paldea evolved could have done better on there pack art but the card arts are so cool in both sets and also they should be all black border’s on the code cards because every pack a-least have’s a holo and I loved that poke rev RUclips’s channel is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They went so hard with these full arts. I’m definitely impressed

Haven't tried much scarlet and violet base, it's mainly been Paldea Evolved & sword and shield sets but I definitely wanna try to get more of both! I really like those illustration rares!

this is amazing. I haven't had any luck with paldea evolved all been Holos. s&v base set though is good. always at least one when I get just a few packs

already got my Obsidian Flames pre-ordered, got some great pulls from my Paldea Evolved boosters too!
Loved the video my dude! I opened a box of PE yesterday and got thirteen pulls but my gold card was the same as yours lol. Maybe 12 pulls is the minimum and it goes up from there?
as long as they keep producing absolute bangers with illustration rares, I'm not in a position to complain

Both sets are good. I’m sure which one is “better” would just depend on your own personal luck. I pulled the chase Iono and a gold Quaquaval in the same pack from Paldea Evolved, so I’d have to go with that. Thanks for the content, always appreciate it!

I got the full art tyranitar from my paldea elite trainer box. Should I get it graded? First time buying cards in 20 years
I think the S&V era is just gonna get better and better, and so far it's pretty good for how early it is
I've seen some really mixed boxes. But I've seen severak Paldea boxes with more than one alt art in which is awesome :D

I just opened up my first box today and I got a few hits like the Quaquaval ex gold card 🔥
Just got back into opening Pokémon cards after 7 years, about to be 19 I’m glad I know what I’m gonna be spending my birthday money on this year 🤭 I opened 7 scarlet violet base packs and got a nice gold secret nest ball $200, I doubt it’ll sell but I might as well try right?

I've been almost out of the game during SwSh and there are only two sets of this era on tcg and I feel like a good chunk of ScVi haters are/were scalpers who've seen the hits now are way higher and there aren't many Cha(ri)se(ard) cards as of now. Some just like one Pokémon and some like grabbing money in a way they used to but that now they can't TPCI is operating differently.
Don't worry, two sets with Charizards are coming and I feel like a couple more are coming the next year in whatever new second mechanic they come up with.

I really like the scarlett and violet era so far, just not having the finances currently to open it much
I just opened a Paldea Evolved booster box today and I also got the same number and same exact type of cards too. Don’t know if I like it much, I like that there’s a guarantee but I also would like it to be more random. Though I did see one person open a booster box and get no gold card, definitely interesting 🤔
Just opened a pack of scarlet violet. It was a heavy pack with 12 cards total and 3 holos nothing crazy though
