I'm a lifelong 62 year old Phillies fan and I can't remember another Phillie quite like him when the game hangs in the balance...and that includes Mike Schmidt who often struggled offensively when they made the playoffs in '76-'78. In '80 Schmidt shined in the playoffs and lead them to a WS title.

Every single time he stepped to bat, you KNEW he was gonna make something happen if you gave him literally anything to hit. Same thing with Bryce right now. I'd be shocked if the Astros didn't pitch around him. It's gonna be so important for the top of the order to get on base.

    Do you remember when there was a poll running around saying Harper was the most overrated player in baseball? Ever since high school, this guy was touted as the next big thing. Literally no other player in baseball had as much spotlight as him at such an early age. With all the pressure and expectation, its easy to point out the seasons he has disappointed, but he's a 2x MVP, now NLCS MVP playing in the world series. Not to mention, this dude just has the knack for coming through in big moments.

      Last year Houston didn't have any pitching to support them. This year, they are fully loaded top to bottom and it's a huge difference.

      @mypud4068 Год назад

      The padres by any measurement had a good and complete staff as well, if the Phillies bats stay hot honestly the pitching becomes sort of a non factor if they are hitting everyone

    • @viveknamikaze761
      @viveknamikaze761 Год назад

      @@mypud4068 All the 4 pitchers in Houston are better than all the pitchers in Padres. The bullpen is on a whole other level so I don't think you can compare them.
      Also great pitching will always crush great hitting and that's how baseball has always been.
