- We've gotten a lot of criticism, especially during the last few weeks when we literally STOPPED buying watches!
The reality is that we have been suffering from Patek Philippe overload due to our aggressive buying at the last IWJG Miami watch show. Hyperinflation from 2020 to 2022 has reared its ugly head across the board, boosting the price of commodities of all shapes and sizes globally. Watches did not join this party alone!
The good thing is that we have finally freed up some capital and have begun buying watches once again, as you will see during different clips of this CRM Life episode. We were able to buy a few Rolexes and other pieces at good prices, leading to what we consider a pretty good week in a weak economic environment like the one we're in.
But is this the bottom of the luxury watch market? We don't think so, as you'll see during Carlos's interesting phone discussion with a financial advisor who calls our store looking to unload some Rolex watches and possible purchase his first AP Royal Oak.
We also got to go atomically close to Patek Philippe in this video, as you'll see!

The countdown has started. The smell of coffee fills the room. My CRM coffee mug that I just received this morning is finally going to be put into practice! I can't wait now for my CRM t-shirt to arrive so that i can be able to create the ultimate viewing experience of listening to the glorious new episode. Surely there must be a Friday Night song somewhere that I could play while preparing to put on the episode. Friday night! Friday night! CRM! CRM! Carlos! Dan! Here's an idea! A CRM friday song! You once filmed a fun intro to your program. It was like the tune of an old TV sitcom. You had fun like crazy (us too). Why not an official CRM song in which each of you sings in turn, all culminating in an incredible chorus sung together! And one person in particular who we won't name (Betty...) would be in the foreground dancing until the Angels of Heaven passed out (her lascivious dance moves from last week still leave indelible marks among us, mere mortals). OK. Let's calm down... Let's be serious. But there is a reason for this enthusiasm. Once again, this week was painful for watch lovers. The community on RUclips is still torn apart, particularly in the United Kingdom. And once again, CRM is there to cheer us up. The wise Paul Thorpe cannot restore the image of the community on his own. CRM is all the more essential. Carlos' punchy energy! Charlie's infectious bonehomie! Betty's fiery passion! The captivating charm of Sandra and Raysa! And, of course, Dan's calm and reassuring leadership! CRM is the ultimate antidote. The ideal remedy for all these horological heartbreaks. Once again this week, customers' faces light up with happiness as soon as they walk through the doors of Heavens (the CRM store). Once again, our favorite family educates us on these watches that we love so much while introducing us to other passionate Miami craftsmen... and other brands (Omega!). Once again, we vicariously taste the famous Cuban coffee that lucky ones have the pleasure of tasting. And once again, Carlos fascinates us with his affectionate sales techniques. And, as always, the show ends too quickly. Another week must pass. Another week of wishing every day was Friday, of wishing every day was CRM day. Hoping to receive my CRM tshirt this week in order to send you a photo!

Omega Seamaster versus Rolex Submariner. Both are excellent dive watches. Omega "+"'s: availability, affordability, not everyone has one. Rolex "+"'s: Rolex brand recognition and price appreciation. Up to the individual to decide which model appeals to them personally. I kept my Seamaster and sold my 2020 Submariner (116610LN).
Speedmasters & Seamasters, I own several vintage and brand new ones. Trust me Omega is setting the bar and prices started picking up

Watch market will lag the stock market by several months to a year, because it’s an indicator of disposable income and optimism but you should never believe someone who has the most to lose. Watch dealers are like realtors, if you’re selling your home they’ll tell you interest rates are rising and demand is down to damper your expectations that will sell your home faster….same thing with dealers, if you’re trying to move a piece they’ll say but nothing is selling at that price, however will create the perception of scarcity if you’re buying. Remember, dealers are sitting on piles of watches at top prices and are trying to take the smallest loss possible while moving into cash to weather the storm. At least two more 50 basis point interest rate hikes coming, so it’s not going to be a merry christmas and only the strong with deep pockets and those that socked away some profits from the 2020-21 insanity will survive. Diversify and obviously CRM is in much better shape being in a large wealthy city like Miami. ✌️

The guy that wanted the iced out cross, you could tell that he was a bit disappointed but one day he will look back and be thankful because many wants to sell sell sell but barely anybody will give advice against buying stupid stuff and regretting spending their hard earned money on useless junk. Charlie, Tudor is must just look at it's history! In 1926, “The Tudor” was registered as a trademark by a watch dealer called 'Veuve de Philippe Hüther'. Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, took over “The Tudor” brand in 1936 with a desire to offer his retailers an alternative, more affordable range of watches to be sold alongside his legendary Rolex timepieces.

Omega is a highly respected brand with an amazing history. The prices vary…normally a Speedmaster hesalite can go from $6,400 up to $7,200 for a sapphire crystal one (retail). They also have different Speedys that can cost even more.

I think jumping into other brands is a great idea. Tudor and Omega are the obvious choices. I don't think you guys would have an issue pushing Tudor Black Bay Chrono's off the shelf or Speedmasters. Charlie, from a vintage perspective, dive into the Speedmasters!

Do agree on that. The hyped models from Rolex, AP and PP, are very risky buys at this moment. Everybody is concerned about not knowing how low they can go.

So, they should move from Patek, Rolex and AP because they are ‘overhyped and we don’t know how low they will go’, and move to Omega - which loses 1/3rd its value the moment it leaves the authorized dealer. So, to make money, CRM would have to be getting Omega at almost half price????
@@kraitshakti the issue here is the risk. I am not saying that they should stop selling Rolex or AP, but it’s a smart move to diversify. After the pandemia those overhyped models skyrocketed to 5-6 times, or more, of their retail price. This leaves to unpredictable business conditions. You buy a Nautilus PP today and next month it can be worth 20% less meaning a huge loss. That’s why you see many dealers either refusing to make offers on those watches or lowballing them. The other brands offer a more stable scenario right now, as they were never at this speculative level. Dealers, like Roman, that work with multiple brands are less likely to suffer.

I think you have achieved the perfect blend of content as demonstrated by this latest video release: Customer interaction in the store, answering inquiries on the phone, a little Carlos, a little Charlie, the rest of the family representing here and there, a watch education segment, and visits with colleagues in the jewelry and repair business. You put it all together and kept it interesting and fun. Well done. Regarding Omega: I'm a big fan. My first "nice" watch was a Seamaster that's still in my wrist rotation to this day. But if the current Omega models are easily available for retail price at their ADs, then how does a gray market retailer like CRM make a profit also selling Omegas?

Hey guys! PLEASE!…. I was just at Mayors Dadeland to check the SeaMaster Aquaterra 41mm. Would LOVE to see a review as they’re the direct competition to a DateJust. Specifically the silver dial, or the white dial with grey/orange rubber strap… would also love a review as a consumer! Secondly, a Navitimer. Im a Pilot and all the little punks out there have no idea the integration between watches and aircraft. Many dont know this, but the bezel of the Navitimer is an ACTUAL CALCULATION INSTRUMENT-The E6B bezel. With that bezel, i can calculate speed/time/distance, fuel needed, fuel remaining, etc. Pilots are trained on an E6B instrument as basic navigation before we had GPS! …us “true Pilots!” E6B’ have saved my life 22 years ago. Make it happen baby!

Big Fan here at San Diego, CA. My suggestion for new brands, how about Tudor?, it is a good watch brand and related to Rolex as well, I think it could be a good addition for buyers in a budget
Moon shine speed master is one of my favorite solid gold watches for 32k it's hard to beat
Charlie check out the Omega Seamaster 300 it's more simple and truer to the roots of the seamaster

So while the 3 main brands you sell are the Big Boys and I own some in my collection, there are other watches that are beautiful and wearable, may not go up, or hold the value like a Rolex, AP or Patek, but Brietling, Omega, IWC and Cartier should be offerings in your store. Keep the videos coming.
I was in the first segment of this Vid! I just want to say thank you to everyone at CRM for the hospitality and the coffee. Great episode. The watch market has dropped quite a bit, no one knows how much more down it may go but kudos on the CRM Team for managing to maintain some trading under these difficult circumstances. Carlos is right with what he said, he wont close the doors. Diversification with some sought after watches from other brands which are less speculative hence less hyped may be a good idea.
Regarding Charlie's discussion about the Omega Seamaster, I agree that many of the regular ones have quite some candy but there are few exceptions. I think your friend could have mentioned that its 8800 caliber has the George Daniels co-axial escapement which is quite an horological feat. It is also fully amagnetic thus it wont be affected by magnetic fields and each are tested up to 15,000 Gauss. The Omega calibre 8800 does not need nor have a magnetic shield soft iron case. One must remember that many watches calibers which are protected against magnetic fields (anti-magnetic) by a soft iron secondary case only afford a 1,000 Gauss protection, the Rolex Millgauss is in that league like others such IWC, etc... The Omega watches are now certified by COSC (calibre, same as Rolex) and METAS (full watch, same as Tudor). The Omega 8800 calibre downsides are the 55 hours power reserve which is now below standard as you should be able to drop your watch on Friday and pick it up on Monday morning still in operation. The manual helium escape valve could have been automatic and made flush with the case. It does not bother me but many see it as un-necessary candy. Rolex response to Omega's co-axial escapement is the Chronergy escapement which boosts the power reserve by 15% through improved calibre operation efficiency but it seems that there are some reliability issues with the 32xx calibres. Nothing is perfect.

It is at the same retail price as a Submariner. It is feather light, beautiful and mat so fairly stealthy for a discrete watch; no bling. I got it at -15% retail brand new, complete from an my AD then I'll get 13% off the French tax back when I export it as I shall return to my exile in Dubai so it is a combined -26%...

Love the idea of selling other brands, but is there really enough meat on the bones for youc? For example Omegas, isn't it easy to get one through an AD? I'm Sure there are vintage and rare pieces that would be worth it, but your every day speedy or sea master I'm sure is easy to get.
There’s also a ceramic case Seamaster. Some additional details would have been nice like the ceramic dial, co-axial movement

I agree with you Charlie the sub is basic and just a pure classic. I only own 2 Rolex watches and 1 is a Sub. I do own an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Chrono. I do like the watch I just wish it was a 40 or 42 instead of a 44. You do get a lot of bang for your buck with Omega though. Great Vid as always!!!!

Here in the UK Tudors are selling extremely well and there are a few models which are hard to get for example the BB58 Bronze, Chronos, FXD and the old BB41 Smiley divers. Tudor will be the new Rolex in time. Remember the shield protects the crown!

Hey CRM so here is a little more info on the Seamaster.
There is also a Titanium model that is a Bond edition which comes in a mesh bracelet and a NATO strap.
Another configuration is a super limited Platinum Bond edition.
If you want different straps/bracelets you can order them. I have the original bracelet with glidelock, a rubber strap with deploy buckle, a SS mesh bracelet with deploy buckle, and a couple of NATO straps all original from Omega.
Just saw the edition that Daniel Craig wore with the NATO strap sand it's 🔥🔥🔥

Maybe some models that are in high demand. What we can't do is stock up on inventory for a bunch of models. Given the low historical profit margins associated with luxury watches, we need to make sure that our turnover is high. That's one of the reasons that we're building our ecommerce website.

As someone who has a Speedy and a Submariner I always gravitate to the Speedy. Although, I think I’m biased towards chronographs, but even if I wasn’t the history and brand pedigree is just unrivaled in my opinion. Although easier to get at retail, (I had to wait 8 months to get my sub at retail) the Speedy is just a better watch in my opinion. Shifting towards Omegas, JLC, Tudor, etc. coupled with a e-commerce would be good for CRM!

Omega is a great great brand,i have the same SM black dial and it’s the best value you can get for your money,i think you should sell Cartier also especially Santos model.
We've sold a few Cartier Santos over the years, but they tend to sit on the shelves a lot longer.

A wise man once told me never pay above retail for anything- unless they are limited, rare or collectible / vintage.
With Rolex if you jump online to chrono 24 , eBay, Facebook marketplace etc there is literally thousands of them for sale. It’s a false shortage, never ever pay above retail. This is why the watch market is collapsing like the twin towers. Soon there will be Rolex available to buy in AD, and for real watch collectors not flipper rodents / maggots as they will move away from watches and find a new interest . Cheers
