The Groundnut Soup Recipe You've Most Likely Never Heard Of. Let's Make Village Style Nkate Nkwan!

- This "poor man's" groundnut soup is so simple but just as delicious as any other groundnut or peanut butter soup you've had. My mum tells me it is called Pomposo Nkate Nkwan because some people who settled in our small town(Pomposo), had never seen it and so claim it is only in Pomposo that this kind of soup is made. Any way, over the years, I have come across some people who know this recipe, including a very close friend of my parent's who is a Kwahu lady and says in Kwahu it is called Kwahu Nkrakraa. Have you had this before? How is it called where you are from? If this is entirely new to you, I really hope you give it a try. The simple things in life, trust me; are the very best things.
Ingredients:
1 cup raw groundnut or peanuts
30 g ginger root
0.7 lb adwene (I ended up using half)
0.4 lb toolo beef
1.9 lb smoked turkey wings
1.2 lb smoked mackerel
0.3 lb mushrooms
1 ½ large onions
2 habanero peppers
4 Plum tomatoes
9 cups water
salt to taste
