Yup, he was at the Arcane premiere event, gave an infamous meme interview where the person talking to him didn't know who he was. He mentions he's into Valorant (and he has streamed it as well).
This is Linkin Park. But Emptiness was a good introduction for Emily. But this one is badass. Sounds like she is screaming out her rage at the negativ response from some fans... heavy is her crown. In some years, she will be a legend, too.
look at the lyrics. they work for the league of legends side but if you look deeper mike and emily are also pushing back against those who want to resurrect chester from the grave or else force mike to kill his own band. the rage emily has at those people comes out in the scream. mike talking about it pouring in and how you cant win by surrendering without a fight, tired of explaining, no going back from this path once its begun (emily is a done deal, get over it) - waving a sword (the haters and keyboard warriors) when the pen wont miss (this SONG) it goes on and on. emily and 'heavy is the crown' shes saying she feels the weight of following chester but shes got this.

emptiness machine was what made me feel like emily is just as much a part of the band as everyone else, heavy is the crown is what solidified her as the new frontman. no one can replace chester but she's definitely doing a damn good job carrying the torch as the new lead singer

Now, Mike and whoever produces those tracks... those are smart people. They put the references in. The kind of obvious ones like the texture of the string sample that sounds like Faint, Mike’s rhythm at the end of the first verse that’s verbatim In The End, the second verse that’s kinda like Faint, the long-ass Given Up scream, those are intentional throwbacks. Like ease us in the new era, show us it’s still Linkin Park.
I absolutely loved the bass in the verses, especially the second one, it’s pretty powerful. I love the sound of the drums too.
Oh, and Emily? She’s killing it.

The only thing I'm concerned about LP2.0 is whether there songs will be as relatable as their old stuff. Some of their old stuff cuts really deep, even on the songs that weren't hits. The songs so far rock, but idk how deeply the connect.

Just a tidbit of info from Colin's livestream the other day. He was asked about the new album and said there are "Much" heavier songs on the album than what we have heard so far. He also listed his top 3 songs off the new album and the first 2 singles were not in his top 3.

This song transported me back to 16 year old me with Meteora's release. I'll be so happy if a majority of the album sounds like HITC. 🥰
It can't be said enough: the entire rollout of this comeback has been simply incredible. Do you realize how poorly this could've all gone? It's so HARD to do this, to reform the band after Chester's death and convince fans to embrace this next chapter. And for the music, thus far, to be THIS good, to feel so true to Linkin Park. I'm kind of in awe and I can't wait to see what the totality of this album sounds like.

Love the very subby bass line during the verses. Dave is playing it high up the neck live, so I'm guessing they're doing it with an octaver (maybe even -1 and -2 octaves 100% wet).

While you are listening to dead sara stuff, would also recommend this collab Emily Armstrong did with AWOLNATION called Jump sit Stand March. They have a music video that goes with it. I don't know how to explain it but its just so weird yet catchy and mesmerizing... I don't think its the usual style of Dead Sara but its really interesting how she is still able to showcase her quirkiness even when she is being featured as a guest on someone elses song. I think you will appreciate it ;))

It’s been said a million times online already but as a longtime fan it feels SO GOOD to see/hear new Linkin Park! Still get emotional hearing all of the little sonic hallmarks that let you know immediately who you’re listening to (like the tone on the synth and Brad’s guitar lines). Can’t wait for November!

To me, this song is like a mix of Meteora and Living Things styles (the synth screams Living Things to me). I really like the post Minutes to Midnight stuff nowadays, so I love this new(ish) sound from LP.
Living Things has several tracks that they could easily make _really_ heavy live by supporting the distorted synths and 808s with heavy guitars: Skin to Bones, Lies Greed Misery, Until it Breaks. In a lot of ways it sounds like a take, an evolution on their sound with guitars entirely substituted for synths.

She wasn't holding it back i think it's more of a pressure you know to be part of one of the greatest musical band and on top of that she has to fill the big gap of Chester and that's one hell of a pressure.... I think with this song fans truly accepted her...

So far nothing from the live shows does anything but make me have to fake enjoying it just to be happy Linkin Park is back. Every-time she needs to have a moment that seals the deal her voice gives out or you can hear her clearly struggling half way in bc she doesn't have the stamina. She has it in her i just want to hear her unleash it. Im not bashing her in any way. Yes shes filling the most impossible front person shoes in history. I thought for sure this band was over. I love the new songs!! I just cant pay $200 to listen to what im hearing at these live shows. I get why people are fine with it. No hate im just saying its a lot of people making concessions bc its good enough. I dont disagree it's great if i knew i was going to see a cover band and people long for these songs soooo hard that its perfectly good enough to tour and sell out. For me personally i need to see her get past it before im buying a ticket. It's 100% pressure and also i think a stamina thing. Just be real about it when talking about it. Im tired of people telling mw im delirious. It's clearly happening every show so far. I am 100% understanding and let her have time but i need to see it change by the end of this initial world tour or some sort of improvement. I will support the nee songs all day. I will pay for a digital album i never actually own. I will buy merch and talk about how awesome this new stuff is and she sounds amazing on it. But i wont pay for a live show until she works it out is all im getting at.
Like I say, the soul of Linkin Park is Mike and Hahn. I think they deserved a better voice than Emily (a power house) , but nowadays in the studio everything is fine
It's called linkin park, but it's just not linkin park to me and many others, it's sad they used the linkin park name rather than just be a cool new band. If they were called something different maybe I'd give them more of a chance, but it's just not linkin park.
I compared it to the saint's row reboot, a few good ideas here and there but it's a bastardised version of the band i love, no Chester of course is huge but no rob either.... doesn't work. Would be like Ringo and paul bringing in two new members saying hi guys we're the Beatles... no, no you're not.
