when the glasses can control a vacuum robot or other robots in the future you can cosplay as dr.ivo robotnik with this weird sunclip, Robots....ATTACK!!! (sonic boom - dr.ivo robotnik)
Thanks for doing this. I am surprised the ER website doesn't really showcase the different colours very well, so I appreciate the '360' view you showed here.
The sunglasses clip seems to be the thing with the least amount of details about it available online. I'd be super curious how easy the sunglasses clip is to put on and take off; and is it a physical clip, or magnetic; is it something that can be done with one hand, or does it require two hands?
It's a physical clip with hooks around the sides of them so that they grab onto the frames and stay there. It's not magnetic unfortunately. The top wire portion is flexible, so you can bend it so that it fits around the frames. It definitely takes 2 hands to put them on, but it's not particularly difficult to do so.
I ordered on August 15th, and they arrived today, September 16th, so it took a month and a day to arrive. However, since orders didn't start shipping out until August 22nd, it really took about 25 days. I would argue that if you ordered now, you'd likely get a quicker shipment than I did, especially if you order the gray color, since that is the next batch to be shipped out. Once I received my tracking number, it only took about a week to arrive from China through DHL.
Nice second detailed practical review, thanks for that! Could you also make a review about what the optional subscription is needed for as this costs a lot extra $. Do I miss something if I would use the glasses without that future?
@@emileheilbron9707 there is no subscription cost with these glasses! The only extra cost is that if you want to use translate pro instead of basic, you pay by the hour of usage, which is still pretty cheap. The only difference is that it's faster and more accurate
@@Levi---q7p Thanks for your answer. So it’s only for the translation being slow or fast. But how ‘slow’ or ‘fast’ will this be? And how actually does it work. Do you push a button to have the pro hours counting and is it possible to have the translation in pro paused, so you use the basic when you want?
I really want to get a pair. Still wondering: Does anyone notice that your glasses are special or people just dont notice at all? How unintrusive are the glasses as you go about your day and the battery life how long has it been? Is there a noticeable green glow if you check notifications or get a notification in darker environments? Do these provide enough info for people who use their smartwatch for notifications only to the point you could actually replace your smartwatch altogether with the glasses? When you get a notification how do the glasses let you know? Any major bugs you have encountered in the software?
No, people don't really notice them as anything other than normal glasses. The borders around the lenses are thick, and the lenses are smaller than most, so you will always have the borders in your field of view. That's by far the most intrusive part about them. If you're used to frames like these, then they won't be that bad, but I had very thin frames with big lenses before, so it's night and day between these and my previous pair. Yes, but only at a certain angle. If I'm looking up, and someone from below is looking at me, then they will see the green in my lenses, but nothing will be legible. It would just look like green blurs. As I mentioned toward the end of the video, I would not recommend these as a replacement to your smartwatch. If you use a smartwatch exclusively for notifications, then I suppose these could be an alternative. Otherwise, there are no health benefits (fitness tracking, sleep tracking, safety features like fall detection, etc.) on these glasses, so I would recommend keeping your smart watch if you want to keep those features. On their website, they show a video of what it looks like when you receive a notification. It will first pop up a little message icon off to the left of your view, and if you look up, it will reveal the notification to you. It's pretty nice, but a little slow. Yes, I have. Sometimes one eye's display will turn on, while the other will not. This happens primarily when I lay down on my side, or if my head is tilted, but sometimes on occasion it will happen at random. Duplicate notifications, although not entirely a bug, are also kind of annoying, especially if you have lingering notifications like a reminder. There can be upwards of 10 duplicate notifications that you have to tap through. Another thing too is that you can't clear your notifications, so you have to tap through every single one in order to bring the count back down to 0. It's a little bit annoying.
@@Levi---q7p thank you for taking the time to reply my many questions. Really interested in the glasses. Haven't pulled the trigger yet because part of me still feels they can improve the OS with more features like a timer and stop watch. And like you said the fact that head on people cant see what is displayed it would be nice to have certain info always displayed like time and date even if it chews part of the battery. If they can survive a work shift i wouldn't mind the option at all
@@SomeJohndoe the battery lasts 2 days of regular/heavy use on one charge, so you shouldn't ever have to worry about battery life! Also yeah there are definitely some updates that could improve the user experience, but it's already very polished to where I would still recommend buying them
@@ItsSeals yeah notifications are working but I didn't get enough experience to really talk about them. I'm going to do a longer term review where I mention some issues with notifications. Nothing major tho
ok these are straight class i might need
